Four Points by Sheraton Riverview, Singapore [Master Thread]

Now available for booking for dates from 1 Jul 2016. Category 4.

476 rooms, but only 9 of which are suites. Rooms (Premium/Deluxe) are small (220-250 sqft). Suites (Junior/Executive) are double (450-490 sqft). There is a Family Room category - the equivalent of a suite but with beds in each room instead of a living room.

Flexible rates for base rooms start at SGD200.

This is a renovation/rebranding of the existing Riverview Hotel in Singapore. Situated on Havelock Road about 3km off the main belt of Orchard Road. Views of the Singapore River, and directly opposite the dining and entertainment area of Mohd Sultan/Robertson Quay.

Unfortunately there is no nearby subway access... nearest existing stations are Clarke Quay and Chinatown, both ~ 1.5 km away. New station opening in 2017 is Fort Canning but also situated ~ 1.5 km away.

For further information and pictures of the renovated rooms, check out the existing hotel's website : http://www.riverview.com.sg/

Is this along the river near the Millennium hotel? IIRC there's also a Holiday Inn Express or something a couple blocks back from the river that has a big atrium.

Yep. Just after the Millennium Copthorne. There is a Holiday Inn (Atrium) diagonally opposite, and several blocks down there is a Holiday Inn Express.

Just looked at http://www.riverview.com.sg/ and it seems to be accepting booking for April 16. Is this an error? Or is it a preview?

The hotel has been around for decades. They were/are remodelling but it's still in operation. 1st Jul is just the official date it joins SPG as a 4 Points and when you can earn points and stays.

Opening day is today!

Anyone else checking in?

The hotel underwent a major refurbishment and feels quite new!

I would hope that Starwood renovated it. The old Riverview Hotel didn't seem very nice.

BTW, this is a quiet and peaceful part of the river, somewhat residential in character, although it's an easy walk to the "action."

Is anyone there now?

How is Plat recognition, and any Plat benefits since there is no club lounge there?

Checked in not long ago.

Plat benefits are standard. Only upgrade to premium room as suites are fully occupied according to FO.

4pm late checkout applies and get the free breakfast instead of points.

Hotel has been fully renovated and room is new.

As usual, no lounge for four points.

Special rate for opening is good value.
