https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...64d353287a.png The leaflet shows the opening hours. It says it is open all day, also open for breakfast. But in the morning a note on the door said it would be closed for breakfast today. I think they were doing some maintenance work. The note said 'However, we invite you to enjoy a complimentary breakfast downstairs in the Gallery Restaurant. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...c48dd45192.png There was pumpkin soup and meat that wasn't as Samsung-red as this picture suggests and (regular) potatoes. Tasted pretty well. But maybe next time I should take some effort to switch on the phone-camera's 'Food' setting... Beer-wise there was Heineken and Heineken 0.0, serveral wines - of which I tried the white (good enough), and I think I forgot to pay attention to the spirits. Two staff members, very friendly. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...88eda83059.png So I only arrived at 6pm, when the lounge was already open for an hour, but this is what the salads looked at that time.Tasted well. There were also some cheeses next to it (Gouda / French). I have no status with Marriott, but I used a promo rate:
https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...3c897bfa5f.png Received an upgrade to the 9th floor, the top, where the lounge is located, room had city view, autumn colours are starting to appear. Mainly posting the above picture because it shows the part of the Zorgvliet quarter opposite of the hotel, where parking is free from 5 pm on Fridays until 9 am on Monday. Parking at the hotel is 26 euro per night. Parked my (brand new) car a little bit further into Zorgvliet near an embassy building that has 24x7 police surveillance. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...44fae892d2.png View from the lounge, sun setting into the North Sea. The building in front is the Home | Kunstmuseum Den Haag .A couple of streets behind the museum is Aert van der Goesstraat | DenHaag.com , a street that has some nice little shops and restaurants. Somewhat down the road is Paagman Fred, Frederik Hendriklaan 217 Den Haag , a famous bookstore that is still doing well these days. Open until 9 pm on weekdays, shorter hours on weekends. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...df851e7906.png Aert van der Goes St. |
Last time, when I paid extra for the 5000-points promo rate, I had to call them to get the points. They only credited the regular points.
This time I didn't get them either. What do you think, is it normal when you book a property-specific rate that comes with additional promo-points, should you have to wait for a number of weeks? Or do those points normally get posted inmediately with the regular ones? |
We are currently at the Marriott The Hague. Platinum members. Perhaps not the best choice of hotel for tourists; it is a distance from the city center, at "World Forum". From Centraal Station, one takes tram #17, direction Statenkwartier, to Kunstmuseum. The hours of the Executive Lounge have changed. Happy Hour is 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm. The lounge is "located on the 9th floor where you will be treated to a spectacular view of Scheveningen Beach". We did not notice this spectacular view though. Evening lounge offerings are modest. As Platinum members we were told we could only have complimentary breakfast in the lounge.

Was the evening lounge offering enought to make a meal or just a snack?

It might depend on what was offered that evening and your food likes and dislikes, but generally the answer would be yes, it is enough to make a meal. 😊

Hi all,
Have 1 night here at this property, since my last visit back early this year. Noticed some changes at the hotel - the front staff seems to consist of some new faces which I've not seen in previous years, and the associate serving me was much friendlier - rooms looks the same, did not notice any changes, however, I did notice that there are smaller refillable bottles for the hand wash and body lotion (used to be wall hanging if I remember correctly) - main change seems to be the Executive lounge. Furnishing seems to have been updated and there is an added new are facing the window. - evening offerings seems to have been changed slightly - I thought it used to be from 5-7pm, but now it's 5-8 pm (one of the longest I've noticed). - evening offerings consists of sort of meal, but at the same time not really - more of more meal like appetizers. (e.g fried chicken breasts, samosa's, salads, cheese and cold meats, dessert, soup). This offering is much better compared to the Hilton's offerings which I had just a day ago (which was basically cheese, some tapas and the dutch bitterballen). Drink quality is much better at the Marriott too. http://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.flye...c584578895.jpg Hot options http://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.flye...2db9d37162.jpg Dessert and cheese http://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.flye...8458df00fb.jpg Lounge http://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.flye...075e84ce8b.jpg Lounge http://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.flye...e649c9a7fa.jpg Cheers! |
Thanks for the report. Looks indeed better than the Hilton. Might give the Marriott a try on one of my next Trips to The Hague

Have again a 1 night stay at this property. As expected the hotel is not as busy due to the holiday season - reason why had quite a good rate.

April 2026 update
Having again a 1 night stay here. As an elite member, was "only" upgraded to a Deluxe room from the base room facing the main road.
Some of the changes I observed since my last stay - majority of the staff (especially the lounge) seems to be the same, not much for the front desk (maybe a 50-50 ratio old to new) - lounge was today quite busy - from what I heard from another guest, the days before it was quite empty. - disappointed with the offerings for the evening food offerings this time - mainly fried finger food (spring rolls, onion rings), they did still have a soup. I am not sure if it's a downgrade from what previously was quite a good spread for NL. I did notice some downgrade in the generic offerings/spread - they did remove the sparkling wine/prosecco from my last stay. However, it is still much better to the Hilton lounge offerings in general. However, if it continues to downgrade, I will reconsider my option for this property.. - I am not sure if there was a change to the lounge hours, but latest one is food (+drinks) from 5.30-7.30 pm, with the drinks continuing to 08.30 pm. - lounge still has breakfast offerings (although since I have breakfast included, will just use the lounge) There are some work/renovation ongoing at the property mainly on some of the generic facilities of the hotel. Cheers! [did not bother to take any photos this time, as it's mainly the same as the last review] |
