Four Points PHL used to be a Days Inn - so you get the picture.

Sheraton next door (same parking lot) used to be a Westin - so you get the picture.

Just to clarify, I believe the Sheraton next door is actually a Sheraton Suites.

I have stayed several times at the Four Points PHL and it is very nicely renovated with that contemporary light airy look...the rooms are fine, the front desk staff friendly but a bit bumbling, the bartender is gruff but will, if you ask, call a local Italian restaurant south of the airport and they send a complimentary limo to escort you there and back...old world charm of a place. Had a fun meal and felt like I had walked onto the set of the Godfather or something what with the 50s era decor and limo escort. You just don't get that in dear old KC these days!

Those PHL hotels are the d******** hotels to get to though. I can't tell you how many times I have ended up crossing that bridge, turning around by the arena and heading back over. I asked once and the front desk person that they had renumbered the exits of the freeway but hadn't updated their direction sheet...Thanks.

I don't mind it at all for 1 night.

Thanks for the input. It does not sound good. But I only stay 1 night. Hopefully I can sleep at night. As long it clean. I will stay there 7/9, so I will not qualify for the 500 points bonus.

I stay at the Philly Sheraton Suites all the time. It certainly has its laundry list of problems but the "price is right", it is clean, and the staff does try hard to resolve the issues. The buffet breakfast is nice if you have the opportunity to try it. This property has changed names a number of times. Yes, it previously was a Westin Suites about 3-4 years ago but someone on this forum stated that it was originally built as an Embassy Suites, I believe. There is a computer with free internet access in the lobby just to the right of the front door. That is a nice perk!

Thumbs up good stay!

<bump>

I just stayed at this property this past weekend, and it was very nice! I had two friends staying at the Sheraton Suites next door, but I booked at the 4 points because it was ~$30/night cheaper.

The hotel is immaculately clean, and the staff is very friendly. The rooms are nice with the new 4 points comfy beds and nice bathrooms. The Gold upgrade was to the top floor.

It took a few minutes extra to check me in due to "housekeeping problems" and they gave me a $20 credit at the restaurant/bar for being patient. It really was only like a 4 or 5 minute delay, but the gesture was appreciated.

My friends who stayed next door at the Sheraton Suites had nothing but problems (dirty room, broken faucet, contradictory staff answers etc.).

It was definitely a very nice hotel and probably my new preference for PHL airport hotels.

jumpgate, thanks for the update on this property. I had stayed at the Sheraton next door as I had heard bad things about the 4Pts before and didnt want to chance it but their rates always seemed attractive. I will have to give it a go on my next stopover in PHL.

Thanks for the update.

I've got a forthcoming weekend stay and have been trying to decide between the two airport hotels. It sounds as if the Sheraton Suites continues to have QC problems.

Price difference is only ~$14/night, but a 4P stay would make it the 4th of a 4 night set for the current 4,000 4P promo.

I stayed there for one night a couple of weeks ago. It is part of the Starwood complex with the Sheraton Suites and Aloft. There is even a beach volleyball court. I ate dinner at Relish at the Suites, which was pretty good. You can clearly see the Days Inn bones when you're in the hallway, but overall this place is a farily solid choice for the money.

PHL Four Points

I had a pleasant stay at this Four Points last Thursday night. Airport shuttle service is very efficient (morning driver was less than jovial). Front desk staff is friendly and helpful. Check-in was easy. My room (an SPG room) had new furniture and a comfortable bed. The bathroom (tub and commode) was clean but clearly had not been renovated with new fixtures. The sink is outside of the bathroom but quite functional with decent lighting. HVAC worked fine. I arrived late and left early so didn't have a chance to try the bar or restaurant. The lobby and bar were newly renovated and there's a PC in a corner of the lobby (no charge, but I don't think it had a printer). For $85 on a pre-paid midweek stay, I thought this hotel offered great value.

Price has never been a problem. They just need to fix the place up. They have had it for a while now as a SPG.

Have been staying here over the last few weeks. My plat amenity (250 points) never posted even when the lady at the checkin counter said she will register me for it. Is a nice hotel for the price but either the front desk folks need additional training or the computer system is broken at this property.

Last year I as a plat I was "walked" at this property and they could have cared less. Staff needs major training unless things have changed significantly.
