As of February 2019 this hotel no longer offers club lounge access to Marriott Platinum and higher guests, even if upgraded to a room category which would otherwise offer lounge access, so lounge access mentioned in older reviews would no longer apply.

The hotel also no longer participates in Suite Night Awards.

Breakfast offering for Platinum and higher is in restaurant, buffet plus made to order eggs.

We will have to wait and see if the superior rooms are activated. I have an email inquiry regarding this, but it may be a while before I hear anything.

For the deluxe room, the points required is 21000 per night so just 1000 more than base (superior). Since they haven't loaded the peak award dates at all yet you can probably book it ahead and lock in the rate if you have the points.

Not sure if cash and point option is available for non-base rooms.

Although, I find the rate too high both for cash and award based on a few photos of the room rendering, also not sure what kind of hotel feature will be available so will be booking elsewhere instead.

Considering staying here for a couple nights in September. Pricing seems to be around that of the Park Hyatt or Conrad Tokyo. Do you guys think this property will be comparable in terms of quality and amenities? Would like to build towards SPG Status this year as I already have status with Hyatt and Hilton, but would like to know if you guys think its worth it to go out of my way to stay here.

I guess we'll have to wait for some reviews once they open.

I suppose you are right. I am assuming this is a unique property correct?

Well, this property is a new build and the first LC in Tokyo and second LC in Japan. I do look forward to a stay here as well in the future but I'm sure prices and points are off the charts....

So I'm pretty set on Nov. 2017 and looking at 12-14 nights. I'd really like to book on c+p but I'm still not seeing the option available. The website indicates that the rate isn't avail. for my preferred dates, yet I'm not bringing anything up with the flexible option either. I don't mind booking a base rate but at 16,363 SPG I'd be looking at over 200K Starpoints which doesn't seem reasonable. I currently have approx. 90K. For an extended stay, it really only makes sense to use cash & points. Any work around?

I've just contacted SPG and requested info from the property's revenue manager so hopefully I'll be able to figure things out with the property in the next week and determine what they're able to offer.

Well that was an entirely useless exchange:

"Thank you for contacting The Prince Gallery Tokyo Kioicho The Luxury Collection.

We understand your situation, but unfortunately we only accept reservations till 21st of December 2016 so far.

We are going to start accepting reservations from June 2017 for November 2017.

Also, if you would like to make a reservation with the “Cash and Point” plan, please make a reservation through the Starwood system. We unfortunately cannot make any reservation directly when points are involved."

So despite the fact that they have understandably not opened their calendar to the future dates that I'm eyeing, there seems to be no possible way to book c+p with this property at all? The revenue manager indicates that it needs to be done through SPG and I'm told by SPG that there's no way to do so in the system and that this needs to be "negotiated" with the property.

EDIT: Just called SPG again for further clarification based on the above response from the property and was told that the property management is solely responsible for determining the rates that they set. I've now written back to the property again, requesting information about future availability of c+p rates.

Hi OliverB,

We understand you are frustrated in trying to book your upcoming trip to The Prince Gallery Tokyo Kioicho, The Luxury Collection.

Unlike Free Night Awards using Starpoints, Cash and Points bookings are not a guaranteed rate. At this time, we are not seeing any Cash and Points rates loaded for this property, but that doesn't mean that they won't add this rate after opening or closer to your stay date.

While I know this isn't the answer you were looking for, I hope you find the explanation helpful.

Kind regards,

What do you know about the location? Are there a variety of restaurants within easy walking distance or is it pretty remote? Thanks
