As of February 2019 this hotel no longer offers club lounge access to Marriott Platinum and higher guests, even if upgraded to a room category which would otherwise offer lounge access, so lounge access mentioned in older reviews would no longer apply.

The hotel also no longer participates in Suite Night Awards.

Breakfast offering for Platinum and higher is in restaurant, buffet plus made to order eggs.

Expert Review from May 2018 posted to the Luxury Hotels Forum: “Stunning hard product with great concierge and service”

You could email or call SPG. But you already know the answer...

No, you can't make 1 booking and try to double dip in benefits as a result of 2 loyalty programs. It's no different than a FF# on an airplane ticket...you can't apply two programs at once and expect to double dip in benefits.

This hotel follows the rules strictly. Meaning, if you book via princehotels.com you can enter the Seibu loyalty # and receive those benefits. If you book via spg.com you enter your SPG# and receive those associated benefits. Case closed.

I’m not sure why you expect the SPG lurkers to answer that question for you... they work for SPG, not the Prince hotel or Prince hotel chain or another loyalty program that the hotel may also belong to.

The lurkers have already confirmed that you can receive SPG benefits even when booking on the hotel website. I think you’d get a better answer if you ask the hotel directly whether you can double dip your benefits.

Just finished stay at this property. SNA for 4 nights cleared

Pros:
Close to subways. About a 3 minute walk. the Yellow Ginza line is very convenient
Nice hardware
Comfortable bed
a lot of restaurants within 5 minute walking distance
Great staff - the concierge I spoke with had great English.

Cons:
breakfast food is the same every morning. got repetitive very quickly
weak fruit options - i think there were 2 or 3 choices
bland room service food was not very good

I think there is some predatory behavior here. The hotel seems pretty reasonable - you can get the Seibu Prince Club benefit or the SPG benefit but not both. Each set of benefit costs the hotel money, if they allow you to have both, they will have to apply this rule to all those that come after.

You are then asking Starwood Lurkers to support your case on technicality when the intentions is to play a loophole. I think Starwood Lurkers are correct to not to strongly advocate your case to the higher ups. It's not worth bringing conflict between corporate and franchisee over a customer acting not in good faith.

I didn't raise the issue on the first place. I asked the question initially and got a response. Then someone raised the issue of this being a TOS violation, then we got a new response that conflicted with the first, so I want some clarification of what it all means.

Surely the Starwood Lurkers are capable of speaking for themselves?

Hi hailstorm,

My sincere apologies for the delay.

As per SPG policy, as long as your reservation is an eligible booking under SPG eyes, you would still receive the SPG benefits. We are unable to speak on behalf of Seibu Prince Club.

Thank you for your response.

So we started with this:

Which led to this:

And now we have this:

So my understanding is that a booking via this website will be eligible for SPG benefits, and the issue of whether it's also eligible for SPC benefits is something to take up with Prince Hotels. Correct?

Yes I did. Still case closed. The SPG T&Cs clearly defined what an eligible rate is. Booking on the Prince chains website would not be eligible (the site you are trying to force a booking on, to double dip on your benefits). Also, the Prince chains website showed a rate double that via SPG, so even if they allowed double dipping it doesn't seem worth it.

EXACTLY. And the hotels in Japan will follow the rules precisely. And they won't care what a "Starwood Lurker" on Flyertalk posted - they will go with what the T&Cs of the program are.

Shows why your understanding is poor and case is closed. Does the website you link have a spot for your SPG number? No? Then no SPG benefits.

This is the Luxury Collection hotel site for this hotel: http://www.starwoodhotels.com/luxury/property/overview/index.html?propertyID=4443&language=en_US

I've stayed here before and wonder if you or the hotel would even enjoy your visit if you're already trying to find ways to game benefits and come across as a fraudster el cheapo at a hotel where the Japanese guests were valeting cars with a production run of 100. I was surprised the currency conversion machine even listed a rate; wouldn't think most patrons here would care.

btw, what are the extra Seibu club benefits you are trying to milk? Are they worth all this fruitless effort? I can only imagine the embarrassment of checking in at the very public check in desk and arguing for whatever you are trying to double dip on.

Awesome! What category suite did your SNA clear to?

I think the club lounge breakfast is better than the main restaurant. Both for food quality, but also for service; the service is hit and miss in the restaurant especially if you don't speak Japanese but it is exceptional in the lounge even for English speakers (this isn't the first Japanese SPG with a lounge that has remembered my penchant for a large iced coffee glass with a straw, and has tenderly presented it to me during any daytime sit downs I had, within 2 minutes of sitting down)

Yes, as for Seibu Prince Club benefits, it will be decided by the hotel.

Gee, you were wrong. What a surprise.

You're better off sticking with commenting on things that you actually know about, whatever that might be.
