Grand Hotel River Park, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Bratislava [Master Thread]

I see this hotel finally accepts reservations through Starwood channels now. It will be an SPG hotel tomorrow, August 1st.

I have considered this hotel in the past - but at 200 EUR ++ it was a little bit steep for me, especially when the Sheraton was way below 100 EUR (and great plat recognition as well). Now, they have loaded weekend rates of 119 EUR.

I see that they have a club lounge - did anyone stay here when it was sailing under the Kempinski flag? How was it?

Interesting. We did a two night stay at the Sheraton this summer, which was one of the best Sheraton stays i've ever done.

I don't see an advantage re: location- it's not in the old town, but is on the river past the main bridge.

Wonder what are the Platinum amenities here like happy hour cocktails and such.

Upgraded to a nice suite with river views but no welcome card or welcome gift (cake, chocolates, bottle of wine, snacks...) in the room, not even a chocolate on the pillow with turn down service.

How's the breakfast? Any evening cocktail hour for Platinums?

Only after posting my last message I re-read the original posting to realise that there should be a club lounge...it is called Grand Living Room...will check this out today. Breakfast was very good...but no loose-leaf tea like at the Sheraton in town and eggs benedict are charged extra.

The Grand Living Room is truly grand. Loose-leaf tea in pots available. A tasty buffet. The Sheraton in town is one of my favourites but this is quite amazing, even better. I should dress up next time I come to Bratislava!

As a platinum member ( through my Marriott platinum) will I have access to the club lounge or must I buy a club level room for access? Also do I get a free breakfast? As I don't usually stay at Sheratons I am unfamiliar with their ploicy.. Thanks

This isn't a Sheraton, it's a LC property.
