Booked 6 nights and emailed the hotel about their treatment of PLT's and not upgrading. Got an email today saying I was upgraded to the Caroline Astor Suite. I think because of your frequent travel, they should probably take care of you way more than me. Ill have a word with the manager when I arrive tomorrow night. If you come to Mumbai over the next week or so, do let me know.

Had an absolutely amazing stay here recently. Stayed for two nights only, unfortunately. Your24 was approved, checked in at 11PM and out at 9PM two nights later. I was upgraded to a suite one month in advance - reflected on SPG.

Booked their (overpriced) car service from Mumbai Airport - ten times the rate that of Uber Black. Not sure if Uber Black gives you any S-Class. But it was very smooth and seamless - very comfortable.

Once at the hotel we received a warm welcome, checked in on the 9th floor lobby, then escorted to our suite by our butler. Baggage was delivered very promptly.

The suite was very glitzy and "clean". Bisazza tiles and flowers, lots of mirrors and lamps. Very modern and nice. I found the light controls to be little annoying, same with the A/C. Spent some time to figure it out. The suite was quite humid when we arrived, so we had to have the A/C on at all times. That was not a probiem. I just hate humidity in the bedroom.

There was a WC by the entrance, then a fully equipped kitchen, with a large fridge (that also worked as a minibar), then there was a large living area with a couch, table and chairs and also a dining table with four chairs. The bedroom was quite large as well. The master bathroom had separate bathtub/shower with bench/wc. There was also ample closet space and a powder room.

Complimentary coffee/tea with cookies is served by the butler until noon. But you can also make your own coffee, as coffee/tea provisions are provided. Complimentary high tea in the lobby lounge from 3 till 5 in the afternoon. This applies to all platinum and suite guests. The high tea was nice.

Complimentary cocktail hours at the bar on the 37th floor, from 6 till 8 in the evening. A selection of cocktails and other drinks from a "cocktail hour menu". You can also choose some appertizers. While they were tasty, they were not really appertizers - full portions of food. The soy bean chicken was a full plate, and the spring roll appertizer was 6 spring rolls, hehe. Cocktails were tasty! Nice perk! The breakfast buffet was extensive and tasty.

Service was prompt and efficient. It is connected to the Palladium Mall, with several eating options and cinema, if you want to escapre the prices of the St. Regis. The prices weren't too bad, and the food was good.

We used the S-Class for a 6 hour sigthseeing trip, it was definately worth it! The driver took us around to all the interesting places, things I have seen before, and also things I havent seen before. He guided us a bit too, but without being disturbing. Then he let us off and we walked around and he waited in the car - also being on call, if we went some distance from the car and he came and picked us up. Hot and humid in Mumbai these days, so we appreciated the level of comfort!

Staff are very eager to serve, maybe a bit too eager for a Norwegian soul. I will definately stay here when returning to Mumbai. This is a great hotel, platinum recognition was great, and we were treated well! They took good care of us!!!

Stayed here again recently and was a wonderful stay again. Only thing I asked about and didnt get from the previous poster was complimentary high tea. I think PLT treatment lately has been really good. Had a suite this time with a full kitchen.

Considering this on my next trip to BOM, at least for a few nights, despite being a Taj faithful.

Question: does anyone (who was here recently) have a Flickr account...or any sort of photo-sharing account? Would love to see recent pics of the property (not by recent pics, I mean FlyerTalker pics...not TripAdvisor!)

Considering St. Regis, Oberoi Mumbai or Four Seasons...

For a tourist, how does the St. Regis do location wise? I know it's located above a mall, but is it walkable to places we'll want to visit?

St. Regis is clearly the newcomer of the bunch, but others have noted that Oberoi offers a fantastic service experience (also a local chain)...

Thanks for your feedback!

Location-wise, the Oberoi wins hands-down. Apart from the Palladium Mall (whose convenience with food outlets, supermarkets, is not to be underestimated), the StR isnt within walking distance of much since the area of Lower Parel is dominated by office blocks. The Four Seasons is just down the road from the StR, but without the added benefit of the attached mall. Attraction-wise, they are both closer to Haji Ali Mosque, and the Sea Link for easy access to the airport and northern suburbs (should you need to go there), but thats about it. But the Oberoi is closer to everything else, and within walking distance of Colaba.

If you would rather have an SPG stay, the StR is a fine property, but for a unique experience and superior service I would pick the Oberoi.

Something seems to be broken with award bookings at this property for next year. I checked multiple random dates. All had standard room availability, some even had cash & point availability. But no date available on a pure points redemption.

Lurkers - can you please look into this. Thanks!

St. Regis Mumbai

First, great property up to the standards of St. Regis in every aspect from a physical standpoint. Part of a luxury shopping mall and as expected loads of staff everywhere. Greeted by my butler (female) upon departing from the hotel car greeting me from the airport ($55 each way for a toyota minivan). Check in was completed in my guest room and didn't take her offer for anything that evening, but a welcome and friendly young lady for sure.

Room was upgraded to a base suite and was very good. It wasn't quite as large as a metropolitan suite, but plenty big. I was thrilled with the water pressure and almost instant hot water in the shower. Bedding was awesome and pillows very plush. The breakfast was included so took the points, local gift was something very small and remember thinking, wow I would have expected more. Maybe a small elephant metal figure or something.

Did use room service for dinner and although expensive, which you expect, it was a great ham/cheese sandwich with freshly cut fries. Also breakfast was very good as well. Not an overwhelming list of options, but very solid. Would certainly stay here again and pretty good location as those who have been to mumbai know.

Almost a year later, and a slightly odd issue at this property again. I was looking at dates for a stay in Feb 2018, and the base category room is available for paid rate stays on most dates, including my specific ones, and has no minimum stay restrictions. However, as far as I could tell from my searches, award rooms are only available with a minimum stay duration of 7 nights!

Can you please look into this issue, Lurkers.

Thanks!
