I find multiple dates with the entry level villa (Garden villa) availability but only OWV showing up for points redemption of course with a ridiculous premium.

However the base base room is available as many of you have mentioned above - however the rate is including breakfast which I assume is why it’s not showing as a points redemption? Has anyone succeeded in booking for standard price 60k per night via phone? Seems very shady that they can play with the inventory like this...

I would recommend keeping an eye out over the next day or two. The same happened last week and then out of nowhere some availability popped up on Monday afternoon.

In people's experiences, how hard is it to book award stay and pay to upgrade to Overwater Villas?

Not difficult at all. Just email the reservations line and they'll give you a quote for your dates. However, you will have to upgrade your entire stay and pay entirely upfront. Additionally, the cost is nonrefundable.

Thanks for the reply! So I can't book 5 nights and only upgrade to Overwater Villas say 2 out of the 5 nights?

Not in my experience or in the experience of numerous others whose experiences upgrading have been detailed throughout this thread.

After you book the award with points, send an email to reservations and ask to be upgraded to an overwater villa with cash. I was given a price of $246 per night in the summer and then $369 in November which is closer to peak season. I was also told I could be upgraded once again based on availability. Hoping for Sunset Overwater

I was considering not upgrading at all and relying on my Platinum Status but I did not want to risk it as this is my honeymoon stay.

Im interested to see if anyone stayed with the Garden Villa points reservation and was not upgraded to overwater as a Platinum??

Was looking for availability to extend my stay by a night and was able to book an OWV for 100k pts/nt. The same category on the same night was previously showing availability at 386k/nt so I'm not sure what changed but I'll take it.

Thanks for the tip! I was now able to book a 5 night stay for 440K instead of the >1million pts previously offered.
