Platinum Amenities
  • Breakfast in Alba Restaurant
  • Daily fruit basket
  • 4pm late checkout if available

Tips on Availability
Award availability (and availability in general) seems to now be loaded in a week at a time (1 year minus two weeks on Saturday night around midnight ET) rather than day by day as it seemed to be previously.

Arrival information
  • All arrangements for travel to the island must be arranged through [email protected] at least 72 hours in advance.
  • St. Regis Airport Butler will escort guests to the seaplane terminal StR lounge in the comfort of a luxury car or van. The lounge includes drinks and light snacks, WiFi and kids toys.
  • Seaplane schedules are determined one day before arrival or departure and flights take place only from 6am to 3:30pm. The resort does not control the scheduling or arrangements of seaplane flights. This is completely under the control of Trans Maldivian Airways.
  • Guests arriving after 4pm will have to stay overnight on Hulhumale or Male and travel by seaplane the next morning.
  • The maximum baggage allowance per person is 30kg; excess baggage will be charged an additional fee of $6/kg. You can leave your baggage at the airport for $6/day.
  • Fee: $745 roundtrip per person, tax included. Children from 2-11 years pay $449. Complimentary for children under 2 years of age.
  • Travel Time: 45 minutes (one way)
Villa Categories
Note this is not a complete list and is only for the lowest 5 room categories:
  • Base Room is the GV (Garden Villa)
  • Then OWV (Over Water Villa)
  • Then BV (Beach Villa)
  • Then Panoramic OWV
  • Then Sunset OWV
See resort map below.

Regular OWV are (A) 501-507, 509-517, facing into the island. You get a warmer pool compared to Panoramic OWV but less privacy as the higher number rooms can be seen from the island.
Panoramic OWV are (B) 523-525, 527-529 facing out to sea to the north. You get the privacy BUT you will have a chilly pool.

Sunset OWV are (C) 530-534, 536-544 with the higher numbers facing the Whale Bar. The sunsets are spectacular and your pool will be warmest of the three.

Hello all.
I found myself unexpectedly booking our third trip to the Maldives this past week, inspired by low cash+points options.
We booked a 2 Bedroom Ocean room for 5 nights, and the John Jacob Astor suite for the last night. I used 425,000 points total, 340,000 from my silver account and 85,000 from my wife's Gold account. Considering switching some other stays to Marriott to get Platinum, as my wife is only 4 nights away. If I do this, will the hotel offer us breakfast for the whole stay, or is it YMMV, or only for the night booked under my wife?

There will be 4 or 5 of us on the trip (all adults)

Anything else I should know in advance?
Thanks!

How much was it to upgrade to the John Jacob Astor suite for the last night?

Also stayed in a 2bedroom villa with 4 guests (2 platinums)on points, after our butler checked/confirmed the second platinum status we got free breakfast for the 4 of us.
Otherwise we would have had to pay for 2 guests. It makes definitely sense to go for platinum status, at least breakfast for two, doesn‘t mind under which account you made the reservation.
As platinum you will get a F&B discount of 20%, vs 15% as Gold .

~$3925 after taxes and fees. +85K points. We'll split it 3, maybe 4 ways.

Depending on the relationship to your travelpartners, you should consider staying in the 2bdr beach villas. Its the same layout like the OW villas (separate entrys to both units), but the terrace is accessible from the beach. in the OW villas you have to walk through the lower unit to get to the terrace.

Something I'll need to consider. But might be moot since the 2 bedroom beach is currently not showing available.

Might offer $2500 total (500 night) to upgrade to Knickerbocker or Caroline Astor, if they stay available.

I'm gonna take a stab and say Platinum wouldn't get me a comp upgrade from 2 Bedroom Ocean to Knickerbocker.

Was surprised to learn that the John Jacob Astor suite is the 2nd largest OWV in the Maldives, falling behind only The Private Reserve at Gilo Lankanfushi. Near as I can tell, it is also the 2nd largest OWV in the world.

Are you intending to reply to a specific post? If so, you may want to include it as a quote in your posts for context. These posts look sort of random as-is.

Im planning to book 10 nights on points. Two different types of rooms split into 5 day reservations that way I get the 5th day free twice. Can I do this online or do I have to call Marriott? If I do two separate reservations online I get charged for the seaplane twice. Appreciate any tips!

They will simply deduct the other one. Just let them know when they contact you. I did the same and didn't have any issues.

Looking for some insight. We're staying in the Two Bedroom Sunset overwater villa. Two things we want to know--- based on satellite imagery, various photos, and various videos on youtube, we're having an impossible time figuring whether one, all, or none of the villas have stairs/ladders directly down to the water. Anybody have knowledge on this front?

Also, and this may just be better directly asked of the hotel, but I'm trying to figure out the bed situation. Room advertises King, two Queen, Sofa Bed. Image seems to reflect that the third bed is in the upper bedroom, but it looks like that might in fact be an additional rollaway, and not the sofa bed. Is the sofa bed in the master--- I.E, the sofa in the picture either is used as a bed? We as a couple planned to sleep on the bottom floor together, wheras we have a friend and two relatives that we figured would share the upstairs room. Don't want to pay $330/nt for a rollaway, and would just as soon lug the couch up the stairs ;-) (not really, we wouldn't really do that).
