The article also mentions a Tribute property in Sarasota FL which I don't believe has been discussed before - anyone have any ideas on this?
I did a bit of sleuthing and found out that the Sarasota hotel will be called "The Sarasota Modern, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel" and will be located at 599 Cocoanut. 76 rooms, opening January 2019.

I'd love to see more Tributes in cities like New York, Chicago and Seattle. I'm sure they have an expansion plan laid out but a bigger rollout of SPG properties is never a bad thing!

Hi William, I am in the same situation for a stay in May. Would I be able to have my SPG Platinum Benefits honored, or apply a suite night award upgrade to my stay? Thanks so much.

Hi dukewake,

Do you mean you booked with Club Carlson points as well? As William replied, it is not considered as an eligible award stay, thus no member benefits would be honored nor Suite Night Awards could be used.

Hello!

What are the SPG benefits when staying at an affiliate hotel like the Hotel Pur during the transition?

Thanks!

As far as I am aware, they would be the same as any other non-branded SPG-participating property. There is nothing to indicate any measure of non-participation.

Hello William,

So as a Plat, I would be eligible to available upgrades, got the bonus points and the night/stay would count toward my next year status?

Thanks!

Sure. Why not? They are fully participating in SPG.

Maybe he got confused with Design Hotels which has limited benefits though it still does have stay/points earning.

Caught wind of two new Tributes coming soon:

- Sthala, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel, Ubud Bali
- Oram Hotel, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel, San Diego - Opening April 1, 2018

I'm guessing the Oram is that group's future development in the Gaslamp Quarter. No info on Sthala but there are a few LinkedIn profiles floating around with people's profiles mentioning that the hotel will be part of the Tribute Portfolio.

Great to see this little brand expand - bring more onboard!

I'm afraid that this brand will be culled after merging with marRIOTt.

All existing proerties will be refalgged to Autograph collection hotels.

Low hanging fruit when you have 30 combined brands that need combining/culling

Does your gut tell you that Marriott will also roll the Luxury Collection into Autograph? Or do you reckon that they'll keep it standing and they'll move their better Autograph properties into LC and keep Autograph a four-star brand?

We all knew that Tribute never stood a chance seeing how small it is in the face of the merger, but you've just reawakened the don't-kill-my-brands beast... Eek.

Coming soon: Hotel Vagabond, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel, Singapore. We're getting some seriously great Singaporean brand coverage.

Where did you see that?

I only found an LC announced.

The Duxton Club, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Singapore - Opening February 1, 2017

Looks like it's the old The Duxton Hotel along Duxton Road. Online search seems to show it's currently closed and undergoing renovation. Looks like we just need an Aloft and Element and we will have 11 brands on the island.
