Your World Rewards with SPG and the Emirates Skywards programs
Today, Starwood is continuing to evolve the loyalty space with the announcement of our new partnership with Emirates Airlines and the introduction of Your World Rewards.
Launching on November 19, 2014, Your World Rewards allows SPG Elite and Emirates Skywards Silver members and above to elevate their earnings and benefits when they fly with Emirates or stay with Starwood. We are giving SPG and Emirates Skywards members the opportunity to not only earn Starpoints and Skyward Miles, which can then be used at our hotels or when flying Emirates, but to also receive exceptional experiences whether in our hotels or on their Emirates’ journey. Here are the highlights:
When staying with Starwood:
• Emirates Skywards Silver, Gold and Platinum members will earn one Skyward Mile per eligible dollar spent on room revenue with Starwood regardless of their tier status with SPG. This is in addition to the Starpoints you normally earn for your eligible stays.
• Plus, Emirates Skywards Gold and Platinum members get access to the elite check in line, late check-out, and complimentary guest room internet at Starwood hotels.
When flying with Emirates Airlines:
• SPG Platinum and Gold elite members earn one Starpoint for every one US dollar or its foreign equivalent denomination spent on eligible fares regardless of their tier status with Emirates. This is in addition to the miles you would normally earn for your Emirates flights.
• Plus, SPG Platinum members enjoy elite benefits when traveling with Emirates such as priority airport check-in and priority boarding.
Why Emirates Airlines?
Emirates flies to more than 140 destinations worldwide and Starwood has more than 1,200 hotels around the globe. As a global connector of people and places, Emirates serves more than 80 countries across six continents and with a Starwood property in almost every one of Emirates’ destinations. Just like Emirates, SPG is a global brand and this partnership is a testament of two like-minded companies with complementary global footprints joining forces and bringing our customers a full travel experience.
Members must register and link their SPG and Emirates Skywards accounts to take advantage of Your World Rewards. Any active SPG member may register and your benefits will kick-in as soon as you become SPG elite or an Emirates Skyward Silver member.
Visit SPG.com/yourworldrewards to learn more. The page has full terms and conditions as well as a full set of FAQ’s. Registration will start on November 19th. As always, the Starwood Social Media Team is here to answer any questions you may have.

Shukran, SPG. This will benefit the many of us that don't find the DL partnership of benefit.

Any info if SPG plat or gold will have access to EK lounges when they fly EK? Also, does dollars from EK flights will count if I purchase tickets from 3rd party websites? I'm excited about this!!!

I've never seen such a lack of response to an SPG announcement...

Lounge access is not one of the benefits of Your World Rewards. SPG Platinums are given priority check-in and priority boarding as part of Your World Rewards.
Per the Terms and Conditions, SPG Elites will be able to earn on EK eligible flights and fares.

Thanks for your answers. Want to see if I'll earn SPG points on upcoming EK flights (after registration date) that I already purchase months ago?

Pretty minimal benefits. This cooperation attracts EK flyers to stay at SPG properties while benefits for SPG members flying EK is minimal.

It's the same benefits as Crossover Rewards. Although you do get a free checked bag on Delta flights.

So if I've already purchased an EK flight for January 2015, and I'm SPG Platinum.
If I use the EK rewards number and am registered for Your World Rewards (once that becomes available), I presumably earn 1 SPG point for every dollar I spent on the EK ticket.
I wonder if I added my Alaska mileage number, however--so that I earned Alaska miles instead of Emirates miles--if that would still qualify for me to earn the 1 SPG point for Your World Rewards. I have a feeling that might not qualify?
STARWOOD LURKER?

Does this do nothing for you because you don't fly Emirates? Or, is there something specific to you being a lifetime Gold that makes it do nothing for you?

Though somehow I don't think NA-based EK flyers who credit to AS (I put myself in this bucket) are the intended audience for this new partnership.

Same with the Delta crossover rewards, I have flown several DL flights, but always credited to Alaska, and I received no SPG points.
