To be fair, it's only barely on the "other side of the city" if we assume north of 长安街 and east of 天安门 are good (conventional wisdom). That having been said, being on the other side of the street is a big advantage.

I didn't mean it as disadvantage, and I actually agree it's good that this is on the other side (barely), and a reason why I've decided to only stay at this property for all my Beijing travels. Used to spread it around to experience other places (the other JW, Westin, and Hilton), but I found this one's location is the best.

By the way, I didn't even realized this JW offers meet and greet inside Capital Airport and expedient custom line service, I would of signed up for that myself. Last time I flew in from Taipei there's only ONE custom agent for all incoming travelers. There isn't a lot of people but ONE agent took me a good 40 minutes in line. Not sure what happened that night, but one custom agent doing passport checks, with 5-6 other agents standing around starring....
