I'm guessing breakfast is still in the restaurant with drinks/snacks in the lounge during the day?
I'll answer my own question for anyone looking. titanium treatment was lovely. got an upgrade to some kind of suite xx03, which I didn't think was that large, but certainly a nice room and a lovely welcome snack.

titanium 'continental breakfast' was served in the lounge, drinks and snacks during the day 12-5, alcoholic drinks and hot food/snacks 5.30-7.30. the breakfast buffet was terrific, and I'd call it more than continental. many options, including several hot dishes, breads, meats, cheeses, fruits, eggs, etc.

you could easily make dinner out of the evening snacks if you weren't inclined to go out for one reason or another, but be warned that the tables by the window go quickly and some guys show up early and camp there all evening.

the welcome flyer states kids under 12 are not allowed in the executive lounge, although we saw a family with a much younger child there.

additionally as a plat, er, titanium, 10% discount for any food and beverage item, 20% discount on laundry, two free pieces pressed per day, one hour of complimentary meeting room usage, 20 pages of free printing per day and 20% discount on spa services.

we had an issue with some VERY noisy and a bit aggressive neighbors two nights in a row, and the service recovery from the hotel was terrific. I'd gladly stay again.

Thanks for the review. How was the evening selection ? Just before COVID they had downgraded the hot options in the evening.

On a recent stay, several hot items, including salmon with rice, chicken, pork and soup. 😊 In addition. there was sushi, cheeses, salads, cakes and desserts.

Can you give more details on what was so frightening and how the hotel handled it? Nice to hear of hotels that can deal with issues.

funny, I realized while I was typing that 'frightening' might not be quite correct, but in my jet lagged state couldn't come up with a better word. I'll both amend my original post and answer your question, with the caveat that if I was a guy, I likely would have had a different reaction, but as a woman...I felt unsafe.

first night our neighbors were loud, at 11.45pm or so, and had been since we arrived at the hotel around 10.30p. couple of party girls and some loud guys. loud tv, loud alcohol-fueled talking, etc. and I'm cool with all that, but at some point I need to get some sleep. they quieted down after (I called and) security knocked on their door.

second night the neighbors woke us up when they arrived back at the room at 10.30p or so, and I called to complain around 11.15. I gave them 45 minutes despite being awakened out of a sound sleep cause I was hoping they would chill out and frankly, I don't want to be 'that karen,' ahem, but...security knocked on their door shortly thereafter and they got a bit quieter.

I'm not sure if the hotel kicked 'em out or if they left voluntarily, or if just the guys left and the girls stayed behind (mr kk's theory) but at midnight a couple of men grunted, aggressively and loudly, at our door for a bit before heading towards the elevator. I'm sure the hotel didn't say who complained, but our doors were adjacent, and they were able to extrapolate. it was blessedly silent after that.

totally not the hotel's fault, but it kept me up for quite a while trying to calm down. I was really rattled, tbh. when mr kk spoke with the duty manager the next day we did not ask for compensation, but we did want him to know what was going on.

we were checking out that morning, and duty mgr called a bit after our conversation and offered us transport in a hotel car to the airport. we accepted, it was a comfortable ride and I'd stay again. they also presented us with some sweets for the onward journey. it left a nice last impression; I'm sure it was an anomaly, and we just got unlucky w/the neighbors.

We recently had a lovely stay here. Using our suite upgrade certificates, we were upgraded to a suite for two nights over Xmas. The executive lounge continued to impress. We were offered “Merry Christmas” chocolates at the lounge, and the executive chef came round to chat with folks. Also on arrival, we were late arriving, due to horrible Bangkok traffic. The manager at the Bonvoy desk escorted us to the executive lounge just before happy hour closed, so we could enjoy happy hour and check in at the lounge. We were most grateful.

In case this may be of interest. Happy hour at the Marriott Sukhumvit has been extended and is now 5:30 pm until 8:30 pm. (Previously until 7:30 pm.) This is helpful because on arrival occasionally one is rushed, with Bangkok traffic, to get here in the evening. 😊

We are back at the executive lounge, Marriott Sukhumvit. One of the nicest executive lounges in my experience. We had a long chat with Snook, Guest Relation Team. Lounge is not too busy, so time available to chat. She has a university degree in Fine Arts from Chiang Mai university. Of course we have come to Bangkok this weekend to escape air pollution in northern Thailand. I have dropped from Platinum to just Gold, but it is still worthwhile to book an executive lounge room. 😊

Exited to add: We have been enjoying their sparkling wine, Rothbury Estate, Australia. 🥂

I enjoyed the Marriott Sukhumvit generally - though, the Marriott Marquis the evening prior set the bar a bit too high for comparison. Regardless, I can tell this is generally a good property. Here are my pros, cons, and photos:

Pros:
  • Upgraded to an "Executive" room - I looked online, and the only suite type showed "1 room left" - I'm a bit unsure on the room layouts here as the building is oddly-shaped, so I can't really comment on if my room was more impressive than others would be (I have a hunch that my room might have been a bit smaller than others)
  • Bed was decent - the mattress was probably close to needing replacement (firm), but pillows were plush and covers were decent considering the needs for the tropical climate
  • Shower pressure was strong from the rainfall head
  • Light woods throughout were nice - including the flooring
  • Service was quite friendly - interesting reception with 3 employees greeting me after being escorted to the lounge
  • Offered 4 PM late checkout proactively
  • Lounge offering was nice - tasty iced latte upon arrival, nice lounge desserts (I didn't try the appetizers as I had already eaten)
  • Given a nice box of nine chocolate truffles with various fillings
  • Offered restaurant breakfast - really tasty pancake station, nice eggs benedict, tasty hashbrowns
Cons:
  • View was directly facing the nearby apartment building - any other side would have been better
  • Shower wand column was loose and the wand seemed to automatically tilt out towards the door (and, consequently, you)
  • No Internet streaming options on the TV
  • WiFi disconnected upon every lock of my iOS device (not an issue at other hotels but also not an issue with other devices
Overall, I would consider returning - though, I would likely pick the Marriott Marquis between the two.

So both the Marriotts you have stayed at provided complimentary breakfast at the restaurant in addition to the welcome gift?

Yes, both the Marriott Marquis and Marriott Sukhumvit offered above the T&Cs by allowing restaurant breakfast in addition to lounge breakfast and an exiting welcome gift choice (i.e. points).

SNIP
Is this *real* maple syrup you've got with your banana and pancakes there? Or is it some cheap synthetic artificial high-fructose substitute? This could be a deal-breaker.

If you're at the hotel on the Sunday then I can completely recommend the brunch at The District. You get Lobster Thermidor and everything.

Definitely fake and definitely tasty. I've heard the maple harvest was poor in Thailand this year.

Another great 5 night stay here, whilst the standard rooms can be quite small the suites are a good size with excellent bathrooms, an additional toilet and a properly separated lounge. AC works great and is pretty quiet.

The gym is just ok but can at least do pull ups with no limitations to the height of the room. Pool area at this time of year gets the sun all day (I know this was asked a while back).

For me the lounge remains one of the best options for BKK, 3 hours of drinking and the cocktails are fairly decent (and strong!). Also the quality of the food seems a lot better than a lot of other lounges. Also it is great to be able to walk outside at night and not be pestered by ladies of the night unlike other spots further down sukhumvit..
