I stayed in the hotel for one night last week.
Everything very new, I had a nice spacious room (I am Gold and had the cheapest rate booked, not aware of an upgrade whatsoever), with a very good bathroom. Internet is free and without password all over the property. Front desk staff has been helpful and friendly.
I haven't spent too much time in the hotel, as I arrived late and was working all day. I have used late check out without any problem.
There is a large casino on site, which I haven't used, but the taxi driver has told me that it is considered to be very nice.
Location is so-so. It is close to the Intercontinental in Escazu, but in contrast to that hotel it does not have easy walking access to the shopping malls in the area. It is a little isolated, and to get to Intercontinental (where I met a colleague) I had to walk 500m alongside the highway. Not a big deal, but not very comfortable either.
Distance to downtown San Jose and to the airport are both roughly 30-45 min in heavy traffic.

Hotel has been opened for 3 years. Upgraded to a deluxe corner room with floor to ceiling windows on two walls. (Was told suites were not available when I was there.)
Booked hotel car for transfer from airport (20 kms away). Cost was $35 if paid to driver, $37 if charged to room. Return from hotel to airport was $28.
Rooms were quite nice. No bathtub in our room. Hotel seems to be situated in the middle of a light commercial area near a shopping centre and other hotels. There is a casino on the premises. (Guard with shotgun at front entrance!)
Lounge was disappointingly small with a lack of comfortable seating. Only 1 sofa and a few tables and chairs. Happy hour with free hot/cold appetizers from 6-8 pm. Breakfast was offered in the restaurant where we could eat from buffet or order a la carte. I was told breakfast was included for everyone even though there were prices listed on the a la carte menu.
Doubt I would go back because it was so far from the airport and downtown.

I'll add my two cents as well...
- Ubers are generally available in the area. (In rush hour, it took about 45 min to get from the airport to the hotel. Cost less than $12 USD.)
- I really enjoyed the breakfast buffet at the restaurant downstairs. About a half dozen hot items, made-to-order omelettes, lots of fresh fruits, yoghurt, muesli, pastries, coffee/tea.
- Nice little bar in the lobby where you can order some light dinner in the late evenings. (Pool table in the bar lounge area is also a plus.)
- Small pool is on the roof. Kind of weird location, as it's surrounded by cocktail tables and a small DJ stage.
- Food at the roof-top restaurant is pretty tasty, but WAAAY over-priced.
- Adjacent casino can be accessed from outdoor entrance or adjoining entrance in the hotel lobby. Small one-room casino with lots of slots and a few table games. (Don't think I saw any craps or poker, though.)
- There's a big mall that's about a 10-min walk down the road.
