AC Hotel Ciutat de Palma, Spain [Master Thread]

We're staying here at the moment and as I haven't been able to find a TR, thought I'd give some brief impressions.

Location

About a 15 minute walk or 5 Euro taxi from the old town, a couple of blocks back from the harbourside on a reasonably busy road. It was a 20 Euro cab from the airport.

Rooms

We're been upgraded to a superior room which is OK if a little small. We have a sofa and small siting area as well as the bed and a nice looking bathroom with oversized shower but no tub.

The only other comment about the room is the distinct shortage of power outlets. Have only found 1 to use so far.

Recognition / Amenities

As an AC Hotel, there's no free breakfast, but my son, who we're visiting, recommended a cafe called Cappuccino at the bottom of the hill by the harbour side.

I did take advantage of the welcome amenity which was an outstanding selection of bread and cheeses. One of the other benefits is free use of the minibar which seems well filled with beer and soft drinks.

The only other thing of note is that wi-fi is offered (free for Plats) via a mi-fi adaptor that you sign for and can use not only in the hotel, but take it with you as well.

Thanks for the trip report! It's always good to get one that we don't have any on yet.

Cheers.

I just completed a stay here and thought I could add some additional information. The location of the hotel is quite convenient with many restaurants and cafes nearby. The old town is within walking distance. The hotel offers paid underground parking. However, we were able to fairly easily find free street parking close to the hotel.

The hotel has a nice looking bar. However, like many hotel bars, this one was mostly deserted. I did not have any meals in the hotel, so I cannot makes any comments on F&B quality.

One item that I did not like is that the bathroom does not have a door that properly closes. I never like this when I am sharing the room with someone else.

Further the walls must be rather thin. Each morning it felt like housekeeping was smacking the vacuum cleaner against the headboard in our room, when if fact they were hitting the wall from the neighbouring room. If you are noise sensitive, you might want to insist on a corner room or a room surrounded by vacant rooms.

Otherwise I found the stay quite enjoyable. The front desk staff were pleasant and helpful.

The wifi is now done normally like other hotels without the adapter for status members. You get a little paper voucher with a password on it.

For an amenity I was only offered 10 EUR F&B credit or 500 points.

Breakfast can be pre-ordered at check-in at a cost of 10 EUR per person per day.
