It's a nice location, basically a "getaway" town for LA. Not somewhere people from out of town would go out of their way to visit. It is a bit far to any of the ski resorts.

This looks like a fantastic getaway option for us Angelinos.

Tripadvisor reviews suggest that management here is weak--hopefully the new owners will fix this.

For MR points, it's a level 6.

Anyone know the status of this hotel? Marriott.com says "Limited Availability" and shows no check-in dates until Sept. 30th. However looks like I can book for the weekend of August 2nd on Jetsetter. Is it open for business now, just not under Marriott management?

The Marriott website says "Opening in August 2013"

I have a reservation the end of August before it is under Marriott management. IF you go to the properties website there are 2 links for booking. Looks like one is for dates before and one after Marriott takes over.

It is way too bad that it is a cat 6 not a cat 5. Rates are not bad for the grand opening it seems, but I was hoping to use the cat 1-5 certs.

$20 per night resort fee! I think the Resort word also exempts any MR breakfast requirement.

Any recent experiences at this property? Will be in LA over the weekend in March and am interested in this place.

Property is now a Cat 7. Also noticed this when checking view rates:

Daily resort fee of USD 20 will be added to room rate. Daily pet fee USD 75 per pet. Contact hotel for pet guidelines.

Stayed there last week for one night and really enjoyed it. Very nice property. Wasn't able to get a lake view room as it was the 4th of July week, but the front desk said that they would definitely upgrade to lake view on a best available basis. It's only another $20 most of the time for the view and I'd say it's well worth paying up the small premium to know you'll get it if it's not a slow time of year when an upgrade is likely. The restaurant was quite good and well priced. Excellent service all the way around. Will be going back.
