Springhill will have complimentary breakfast, if that is important.
I'm not going to the Convention Centre. Good point about the breakfast in the Springhill. I wonder what the Courtyard gives Titanium Members for breakfast, a voucher?

If it follows standard Courtyard benefits, it will be a daily $10 credit that you can use towards Breakfast. It does not accrue, and anything over $10 will be billed to you.

I've never been to Vegas. I have Titanium status. Want to see the popular tourist highlights this April. Ideally I'd have a suite upgrade, free breakfast and free parking (although we could spend a few days in Vegas car less and then rent a car in Vegas that we'll return at the airport). Don't care about having a casino nearby. Walking distance from the popular stuff is nice but don't mind Ubering or having to walk 20 minutes. Not sure what we'll do exactly; would like to spend a few nights in Vegas but could do a couple extra nights to explore things around Vegas before moving to the Springhill in Zion to explore the National Park (that hotel was an easy choice due to its proximity to the park).

I have a ton of Bonvoy points and some 35k and 40k certificates to use.

What hotel would you recommend?

It seems every review I read of Marriott hotels in Vegas, status treatment is very lukewarm. I don't normally have this much trouble finding a hotel, but I seem to see so much negativity in the Google and Tripadvisor reviews. But perhaps it's more about the attitude of the people visiting Vegas than about the hotels themselves.

Prior to the current travel situation we visited Las Vegas dozens of times, usually staying at Marriott properties. If you're not interested in the lower tier properties (Fairfield, Residence, Springhill, etc.), which are fine for a single night after a late arrival or before flying out, there aren't a lot of Marriott properties in the "thick" of the action. We've stayed at the Cosmopolitan, which I understand might be disaffiliating, and the Chateau timeshare near Planet Hollywood. There's a new Marriott coming to the Strip, but I'm not sure of its progress. At those two properties you generally get what you pay for, i.e. little elite recognition, but both have their advantages. Over the years we have stayed several times at the JW in Summerlin, but its value without a car is diminished. That said, we have always been well-treated there, the place has a nice pool complex and lots of dining options. It's a great spot if you're going to chill rather than gamble or see the main sights. We've also stayed at the Renaissance and the former Marriott Suites off the Strip. Neither left a positive impression, but others seem to like them.

The best “Vegas” feel and location is the Cosmo. Love that hotel and will be sad to see it leave Bonvoy. But no breakfast. Only get 1 level upgrade which would be same room but fountain view. You should experience that for at least 1 night.

I would look into The English in the downtown area which is supposed to open around February I think. I would book a room now as I noticed not all days are available and you can always change.

I also like the Renaissance. I have always gotten a suite upgrade there. But it is off the strip and a bit of a walk. Would need to drive or Uber to strip and walk from there.

JW is about 15-20 minutes from strip. More of a resort. They have also upgraded to suites for me.

Depending how many days you are staying, I would do 1 night at Drew and 1night Cosmo and if staying loner Renaissance.
you should do at least 3 nights in Vegas.

.
Yes, good point. Have received the Bellagio fountain view as an upgrade without asking every time. In lieu of elite breakfast benefit, getting a breakfast-included rate was a great value since it can be quite expensive at the Cosmo.

Welcome to FlyerTalk, drthunder !

If you want something reasonable, try the RI LV Airport. Hits the free parking and free breakfast points you mentioned. And the rooms are suites. RI suites, but suites. And it is south of the Strip and still on LV Blvd.

Of course the definition of walkability varies by person, but I have walked to/from the strip from the Renaissance dozens of times. Google Maps shows the walk to be 20 minutes, but I typically do it in 15 (I used to frequently walk to Tacos el Gordo -- highly recommended, btw).

I am currently staying at the FFI NW. Its very nice and new but too far from the strip. I did stay 1 night at the Four Points Sheraton to break up this stay for the Q1 promo. Don't stay there its further from the strip and not a great hotel at all. I also stay at the Westin which is not far from the strip and it was pretty good. I chose the breakfast option. they gave me plenty of drink coupons for the bar and dessert coupons as well. they have a steam room and sauna available as part of the destination fee. NO buffet for BF you have a choice of 3 items to choose from and they are pretty firm on no substitutes even at a lower price. the misses chose something different and I doubled up on my choices so they do allow that. I also had a candy basket left in my room w' two extra waters (Voss).

I did get my SNAs for 3 nights honored and also MY 24. I checked in at 915pm and checked out 905pm 3 days later.

Westin used to always be my go to place for LV trips! Over the past several years though things continued to go downhill after MAR got involved. Are you saying they do not allow access to the Buffet breakfast anymore? I haven't been there in a while but not much left there for benefits, especially with the resort fee and having to pay for parking. In essence was pretty darn close to adding another $100 / night to your rate. I guess though resort fees in LV are the norm.
I probably stayed there 40-50 times and never once received a suite upgrade - not that it was a big deal or really cared but just sayin'? There was a period of time a few years back where each time I visited there was no hot water available for a day or two - they said they were replacing the boiler.......they told me that each time. LOL. I just thought they really started to nickel & dime everything there.
I did try the Renaissance for the first time and actually really liked it (albeit the Westin location is much better) - I though the service at the REN was very good and welcoming - first time staying there was upgrade to a really nice suite, they have a little club lounge; received some drink coupons and a bunch of tram tickets! Not sure if they still do all that but was impressed with the place.

Honestly, it sounds like the full-service Marriott (formerly Marriott Suites) is right up the OP's alley.

There was no buffet at the Westin just the one sided large menu card. for BF. so for three "free" days we paid $203.00 This included two day that the misses picked something different off the menu choices. As far as the SNAs an actual suite wasn't a choice that was available. Just a premium double or king and deluxe double or king.

I agree. I forgot about that one. The walk to the strip isn't bad either. When I stayed there i got the DD bus pass so it took off some of the walking up and down the strip if you actually had a destination. No destination fee but there is a parking fee.

Absolutely.

The Las Vegas Marriott is a very well run property with well trained, friendly staff. Not deluxe, no casino, no stores, 1 restaurant, no lounge, but no resort fee. It is a 7-10 minute walk to the Strip, right by Resorts World.

It is my go to place when I have a show going on at the Convention Center. Even if the show is in South Hall I stay here, not in the Renaissance. The Ren bangs you for a resort fee, and the lounge can get overcrowded when the hotel is full. The customer service is FAR superior at the Marriott.

Skimming through recent posts on this thread it seems like the full service Marriott and Renaissance are about equal? Some posters seem to prefer the Marriott (no resort fee), others the Renaissance (better UGs).

I have an upcoming fun trip and getting a decent room rate or comp at any Caesars Rewards property is proving difficult. So, I am planning on commuting by monorail to the race and sports books, poker rooms, etc. at Ballys/Paris/Planet Hollywood/Caesars.

Renaissance is clearly closest to the monorail station but I imagine the Marriott is still a very quick, safe walk to the monorail.

Can anyone chime in on the limited service properties on the other side of Paradise Road from the Convention Center? If a CY/RI/SHS is substantially cheaper, this Titanium is willing to buy his own darn breakfast!

All else being equal: the closer to walk to the monorail station, the better.

Edited to add: just saw that the Marriott has NO lounge. I can't remember the last time I was in a full service Marriott without a lounge. What does the LV Marriott do for Titaniums for breakfast instead? We get nothing and like it?
