Is it possible that no thread was started on this hotel that is scheduled to open in December?
From what I understand, the GM is Yves Mudry, previously GM at Le Meridien Chiang Mai.

I guess that it is possible
 

Not much information on that property scheduled to open in a few months.
A couple of weeks ago, I saw the building, but had no idea that it was Le Meridien.

Excellent! Can't wait to try it out! I wonder if it's going to fall under the same category as the Sheraton?...

Funny thing is that Le Meridien Saigon is already on Google Maps :)

You can't have got close to it then, as there is 'Le Meridien Saigon - opening late 2012' plastered all around it.

I walked past it last week, and while it is undoubtedly coming along I'll be impressed if it opens this year. Many of the Hotels in Saigon are 'pending' or on go slow at the moment due to lack of funds. The Times Square on Dong Khoi St and the Hilton are supposedly slowed, although the former is nearly complete structurally.

Still, as the Prime Ministers daughter allegeadly has shares in Le Meridien, I am sure it will be fine. ;)

Looks like the Le Meridien Saigon will not open until the middle of 2013 the earliest.

yup.. drove past it the other day... no where near ready.

From what I understand, the General Manager (from LMCM) has been there for a couple of months and the Manager (from LMBKK) will join in November.

Dec.1 is coming up... any news on the opening date?

Will the hotel look 'old' when it finally opens?

There has 'allegedly' been quite a big dispute between Starwood and the owners over some of the 'fixtures and fittings' that were being used, which has slowed everything down.

So SPG shows this hotel opening July 15 2015. I will be in Saigon that week but hotel is still not accepting reservations. Does it look like it is going to make this opening or will this be like the opening of the new Doha Airport delayed for 5-7 years?

Can A Lurker confirm when reservations will be accepted? Will be there end of May for a few days.
