That's a good question, I didn't eat out since Club Lounge covered everything for my 1 night stay.

I was told there was a street that I could walk near the hotel that would reach quite a few restaurants and eating places. While in the Car to the hotel, I also saw lots of food options.

Please check with the Concierge Thyetus, sorry I could not be more useful.

There's a bunch of bar/restaurant type places basically behind the hotel. There's a small street/alley to the left, and another to the right of the hotel when you come out the front. The one on the left I'm not sure is still there since construction, but it goes basically straight back. The one on the right, you go back and turn right, then left and you're on the same street as if you had just gone left to start with. If you get to the big beer club on the main street after you came out of the hotel, you passed the entrance to the alley already.

That small street also goes back to Le Thanh Ton and exits near many of the Japanese restaurants.

The street just on the left of the hotel has some affordable restaurants. nothing gastronomic though. If you walk through the alley and go back to the left you will find lots of Japanese restaurants as well.

But it's Vietnam, you can eat great affordable food everywhere!

True, but I use to spend more time in Sheraton Casablanca (Morocco), in that place an upgrade was at 20% chance even if they had lots of rooms available.
So I appreciate recognition every time I get it.

Besides I also really like LM Bangkok, the experience manager, Michele, is one of the best I ever came across.
If it would not be for the location, it would be my preferred BKK hotel.

LM is my second choice in Bangkok, if I feel like spending a little less than my first choice. The Front Office Manager, Khun K., takes very good care of me. She really understands what the hospitality industry is all about.

For a variety of reasons I normally use the hotel car service for an airport pickup (esp. in Asia). However this hotel is quoting eight times the price of a taxi - quite bizarre especially given the very competitive room rates. Looks like uber for this trip.

This pretty much sums up my experience here too (no suite, but UG to a river view club room over a busy NYE period).

Aesthetics aside, the hotel is highly functional. A lot of thought was definitely to the design and flow of things. It reminds me of the LM Bangkok but a lot more spacious, with a lounge attached and other expanded facilities.

Plat recognition is pretty standard. The front desk associate was expecting me and I was invited to Level 22 to check in at the lounge ... Would recommend opting for breakfast downstairs. Usual happy hour (self serve) from 5:30-7:30. View from the lounge is great, overlooking the river bend.

But what really stood out was the staff. They are a highly motivated bunch. Every member of the team I've met from the greeters, the front desk agents, the Latest Recipe people, to the lounge manager (I presume) have been very proactive, often offering to go out of their way to do something for my comfort and convenience without me even asking...

...The people working here are happy and it shows. And that makes all the difference in my opinion. Highly recommended, would come back again in a heartbeat.

Uber from the airport to this hotel is about 80k vnd or $3.3.

Nice!

Stayed here to end our Vietnam trip.....beautiful new hotel. We were upgraded to a suite and had a wonderful view. Nice and clean with a modern vibe definitely.
It seems to be a popular busy place - there never seemed to be a dull moment in the lobby and front drive area. The street in front is a very busy street and it was quite interesting just watching all the vehicles trying to turn into here
The Club Lounge is very nice on the 22nd floor and they really put out a nice spread in the evenings with great service. We didn't get to check out all the facility as it was a short 2 night stay with the one day being gone all day on a Mekong Delta tour - we had to get up very early the next morning to get our flight ( 4:00 a.m. ) so just decided to relax in the lounge with a few drinks and grabbed a light bite to eat then to bed!
We met a wonderful couple from England (I hope I remembered that correctly) in the club lounge and struck up a great conversation with them.
Very nice place with modern vibe - It kind of reminds me a little bit of a W feel but more mature if that makes sense?

They've finally demolished the large and loud "Beer Club" next to this hotel, and begun construction that will eliminate the city views from the hotel. The plan (which here in Vietnam, all plans are subject to change so don't hold your breath) is for 3 towers of 40 stories, one to the South (left when facing front), West (behind), and Southwest (behind to the left). I have not seen any reports on tenants but the assumption would be office space at this point. If all three are completed, I believe they will be taller than this hotel and will also mean the only good views will be to the river. In the mean time, you might start to get some additional construction noise (besides the road work for the subway station on the corner). But as said, plans here change often, so maybe the towers will be shorter than planned or will take many years to complete, you never know.

Stayed here in a suite. Great hotel, staff are great on the whole, with a few laggards among them who don't seem to be enjoying themselves. Pool is nice, but very small. Location is not ideal for HCM, but not bad.

Compared to the Marriott Renaissance, were it not for the nicer room, i'd take the Marriott. Much better breakfast, consistently great staff, and much better location (walking distance to more things).

Stayed here recently. Had multiple service failures at Club Lounge - yes it took one hour and a duty manager's intervention to get a black decaf coffee to me for some unfathomable reason or concierge gave wrong address to Uber so it took me an hour and 40 minutes to figure out where I was and how to get back to hotel after I got dropped off in middle of nowhere or my internet disconnected every two minutes or so for the entire stay among other hardware issues - but I'll skip that as those were probably one off unlucky issues. Other guests seemed to be enjoying themselves even when some told me they also had coffee and other service issues in lounge.

To credit senior hotel staff extremely proactive in trying to fix things. Extremely proactive so top credit goes to them for that.

Suites are big with very nice views. Decor is a little cold for me - I don't know how to explain it but it might be the amount of black tiles in bathroom. But overall the suites are nice. Nicer than ones at sheraton

Location is a little out of the way compared to Sheraton which is in the heart of cafes and massage parlors. One needs to walk 5-10 minutes before you come across anything interesting. The street to the left blooms into a Japanese karaoke quarter at night - I've never seen anything like it.

I prefer Sheraton location but Meridien one not bad. Acceptable.

Food in club lounge excellent as was the food in Japanese restaurant.

Gym is a little small with not enough heavy free weights. But acceptable.

Pool is not ok for lounging around. It is one of those tiny outdoor pools that are under the roof with few loungers around. Very little sunlight. I normally like to sit at the pool for a couple hours a day but this one not nice enough to do that.

Overall I personally had a terrible stay because of issues but I would go again because the hardware, when not broken, is ok. Most importantly senior management active in trying to rectify the chain of errors. But if the prices at ethe sheraton were similar I would stay there first. But if much cheaper I'd take Le Meridien.

Yeah, it's in the SPG program details.

Even plats have to pay extra to get buffet breakfast (rarity in asia). I can't recall if we had choice of giving up 500 plat amenity to gain access or had to pay. But I stayed at club and it was a good breakfast. No need for buffet as they had egg stations, pancake station etc in lounge.

Senior hotels managers have sent me two notes since my troubled stay. Once again proving why I would try here again despite the bad club lounge service
