Le Méridien Mandji and Le Méridien Re-Ndama, both in Gabon, seem to be gone, though I don't know if they closed or just left Marriott.

I hear that the Ritz-Carlton Westchester is closing for renovation and will be reopen as an Autograph Collection, that's a major downgrade. Is it that bad?

Re-Ndama dawdled for years on their plans to renovate, so they were kicked out of the chain for being far below brand standard. Mandji closed for a renovation and rebranding to become a Four Points, and from what I gather online the renovation has been completed to create a modern property, but I’m unsure if the rebranding was frozen or cancelled.

Same happened within the past few years to the RCs in Buckhead Atlanta and Dearborn Michigan.

Does not the Autograph Collection provide better elite lounge access than Ritz-Carlton?

The Whitley, a Luxury Collection Hotel (formerly RC Buckhead) is STILL part of Marriott Bonvoy.

I've noticed when searching for hotels in Vienna that the DO & CO Hotel (one of Marriott's Design Hotels) hasn't appeared on the Marriott website's search results page since June 30. I'm not sure if the hotel is still open, but I'm guessing their affiliation with Marriott has maybe come to an end since it's been a month and they haven't reappeared on the search results page for Marriott properties in Vienna.

Thanks! I had been on their webpage but didn't see any "clue" that it was a Marriott property. I now see it at the very bottom of the page, someplace I probably never looked before

I got the Ritz-Carlton Buckhead confused with having converted to an Autograph Collection, that's right, it converted to a Luxury Collection.

The Whitley (a Marriott Luxury Collection property) does provide Platinum+ with lounge access, so I suppose that's a benefit of the rebranding.

When you search for hotels, it should be possible to check a box (IIRC toward the upper right corner of the page) to also include hotels with no availability.

You could also try googling the hotel's name and see whether (non-ad) it takes you to a Marriott Bonvoy website.

There was also a StR hotel in Buckhead, although not close to Lenox Mall and most of the shops and restaurants (but there were a couple restaurants and a strip mall with a grocery store across the street) and not close to a MARTA station. It was always one of the less expensive StRs.
