I was doing a search of Marriott family hotels around Amsterdam (for a few months out) and a Marriott brand hotel in The Hague showed up saying "opening Jan 2016".

I just did a web search for it, and came up with a TripAdvisor page that in the google search results showed a review rating but when I pulled the page itself up it said "be the first to review this hotel". Then further below it says it's "also known as" the Golden Tulip The Hague. So I presume it's a conversion from a Golden Tulip (which I think is a local chain there).

The Hague Marriott converted this month from the Worldhotel Bel Air. At some time in its past, it was the Golden Tulip Bel Air Hotel.

According to the Worldhotels website, "Worldhotels is an exclusive group of independent hotels. We bring together a handpicked portfolio of almost 500 properties in 250 destinations and 65 countries across the world."

Actually looks like there's going to be two new Marriotts in the Netherlands. The Hague & Rotterdam. Rotterdam is currently called The Manhattan Hotel & will rebrand as Rotterdam Marriott in early 2016 (it shows up in April as bookable but still has the current Manhattan info).

Cheers.

The hotel opened in 2000 as The Westin Rotterdam.

In 2012, it rebranded as The Manhattan Hotel Rotterdam.

Arrow Albertville MN Marriott & extensive facilities (convention+family friendly)

Just announced in the local news media:

Albertville MN is getting a new Marriott (presumably full service), convention center, indoor amusement park, and indoor waterpark. Tentative opening date is the end of 2017.

This is part of a planned entertainment center complex (movie theaters and restaurants? sports facilities such as an indoor ice rink?) to be constructed next to a huge "premium" outlet (outdoor) mall.

Albertville is located about an hour (assuming no traffic jams, which is a big assumption for this route) northwest of Minneapolis along I-94. I'd generally allow two hours for the drive from MSP airport, and more during rush hour because of road construction and general heavy congestion, but it's all interstate, mostly with three lanes in each direction.

MORE DETAILS: This will be huge. They're planning a big indoor amusement park. The entertainment mall is designed to be family friendly. Disney is a partner in the undertaking.

I haven't yet seen anything giving the number of rooms planned for the hotel or how large the convention center will be.

BTW, Mall of America and its indoor amusement park (plus some indoor water parks at nearby hotels) is located close to the airport which is about twelve miles southeast of Minneapolis. The new development (and the existing large "premium" outlet mall) are northwest of Minneapolis and farther from the city, in the direction of St Cloud MN (and eventually the southeastern corner of North Dakota). Still, they're talking about competition for the MOA.

"One of Nassau’s best-known hotels is getting a new look and a new brand. The former Nassau Palm hotel in downtown Nassau will soon become a Courtyard by Marriott, according to Joy Jibrilu, director general of the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism. The hotel recently underwent a major transformation project that completely gutted the property, the Courtyard brand debuts — most likely around April. The project also plans to build a walkway over Bay Street for pedestrians."

Residence Inn, Hamilton, NJ, opening March 2016. "Our Hamilton extended stay hotel is located minutes off New Jersey Turnpike Exit 7A, and by Robbinsville, Trenton, Princeton, and Bordentown". It also got a liquor license that allows it to sell beer in addition to the social hour, if I read the news article correctly.

Pullman, WA, getting a Courtyard in 2017.

"They say two is better than one even when it comes to hotels. The city of Pullman will soon be getting a second Marriott.

Right now, there is a "Residence Inn Marriott" on the Washington State University campus. This spring, construction will begin on a Courtyard Marriott right next door."

Evidently, a new Renaissance in Paris is opening soon, the Renaissance Paris Republique in the Marais (according to them - I didn't check the boundaries, but it is in the tenth arrondissment). It is listed as a Category 8 and reservations can be made for dates on or after April 1, 2016. Web site makes no mention of a CL and, in fact, mostly implies that there isn't one.

http://www.marriott.com/hotels/trave...ublique-hotel/

A search on Flyertalk didn't turn up any citations on this hotel, which I discovered while trying to book a trip a couple of months out...assuming I searched correctly.
