I wonder if varies by the T&C of each corp rate? I've been asked every time in Asia and Europe.

Hi. Anyone know if it is possible to or has anyone ever tried to get one room using MMP at two different hotels on the same night?
Would either hotel know or invalidate the request?

I have no idea, but will note that the top paragraph on the authorization form says: "Associates are limited to a maximum of two rooms per night at the Explore Rate; immediate family is limited to one room per night at the Explore Rate." I would be surprised if that meant even associates could get two rooms at different properties vs. two rooms at the same property.

This used to work prior to MMP qualifying for Elite Nights and Points (Fall 2019 change), but no current experience.

Hi,
a friend of mine recently started working at a Marriott Hotel and added me to his MMF List. He told me that I won't need a form. Is this correct?

Hello want2fly4less,

To enjoy the Explore Friends Rate, the friends must have a completed Authorization Form for each property visited. The Associates will need to print an Explore Room Rate Authorization Form for their friends. If the Associates need further assistance about the authorization form, they may check with their HR team.

Please feel free to contact us if we can be of any assistance.

Best regards,

That's how it works at Hilton but not, as already pointed out, at Marriott.

FD person here, started about a month ago. To answer the form collection / verification question. It depends on the person. I personally dont care because I'm lazy and only work part time for the discount. while my co workers will pull up GPX and verify in a heartbeat.

Does anyone have experience with these type of rates? If I book it and check in, with a valid MMP form, but I am not an associate, do they check/care? If they do check and cannot confirm I am a China associate, do they charge BAR?

MMP is only for immediate family and associates.. if the form is filled out correctly by the associate for you then there won't be any issues. if it is not, then the rate will change to bar unless you can get it corrected before check out.

I think the question was what would happen if you are not a "greater china associate" (but otherwise qualify for MMP) and book the greater china associate rate.

I wouldn't risk it, as MMP availability on the day of is going to be a crapshoot at best.

where you work really has no bearing on anything. it's all about the form being done correctly and the person who is the employee is active and the form is generated correctly.

Form is done correctly, have had it continuously renewed every two months for several years now.

Just wondering if they ask for associate ID for this deeper discounted MMP rate or if having a valid MMP form will be sufficient to pass muster with the front desk and night audit.

What’s your eligibility for the MMP rate? Are you an associate or an immediate family member? If you’re not an associate, then that special rate does not appear to apply to you (unless the rate details explicitly state otherwise) as it seems to be applicable only to Marriott associates employed in the greater china region (maybe the rate details clarify that it for ALL associates staying at hotels located in that region?).

Still, if you want to book it, it’s AYOR.
