Just completed a one night stay here as Platinum. Consistent with prior posts, got upgraded to a suite, have access to the lounge and 4pm late check out.

Does anyone know which suites platinum get upgraded to? or is it random? Anymore recent stays?

Deluxe or Executive Deluxe Suites if available. Both are basically the same suite, except for higher floor and ceiling for the Executive Deluxe Suites.

Afaik, Deluxe and Executive Deluxe are not the entry level suite. I'd say the standard upgrade is the 800sqft-ish suite (Executive) in the Sky tower. Regulars will often get a much larger 1300sqft-ish suite (Deluxe or Ex Deluxe), which comes with a much larger dining area and a media room. On rare occasion, you may be lucky with an even larger suite -- I once had the Ambassador (?) one, probably 1700sqft. OTOH, sometimes these suites will be full, and I once found myself in a smaller suite in the Earth Tower, and once in a standard room.

I completed a 3-night stay here last week, and as critical as I’ve been of the hotel, I must give them some credit. As reported earlier, the club lounge is back in operation, which almost caused me to cancel the reservations I made during the lounge closure. But it’s hard to walk away from a MOP650 BRG rate, and thus, I reluctantly stayed. I have to say, the lounge has improved a lot. I have memories of piles of cheap, tasteless food. But they’ve switched to a better selection – some hot items that also were available downstairs during the lounge closure (e.g., African Chicken, seafood pasta), and there are also some more typical club lounge items available – small dishes with salmon, cured meats, mini sandwiches, cheeses. Also, the desserts are much improved, including some pretty tasty tartes, serradura, etc. In addition to the improved quality of the lounge offerings, I was extremely impressed with the staff. The check-in staff greeted me by name when I arrived, and throughout my stay, I was addressed by name, my drink preferences were remembered. Everyone was outgoing and friendly. I am used to treatment like this at hotels where I spend 30+ nights a year (e.g., HR TST HK), but at a hotel where I have maybe 3-4 stays a year, which also happens to have the largest club lounge in the world, it’s pretty impressive!

I am almost always upgraded to their Deluxe Suite/ Executive Deluxe Suite (seems like it's the case for other Plats here based on previous posts) unless the hotel is super full, but I'm not sure if it's because I'm a repeat guest (probably 10ish stays) or if they offer the Deluxe Suite to all Plats. I remember I was upgraded to their Deluxe Suite on my first stay years back. As long as you're not staying during major Chinese or HK holidays such as Chinese New Year, Golden Week, Easter, etc., you chances of scoring a Deluxe Suite are pretty high.

I also share your sentiments regarding the Club Lounge - food quality has definitely been upped a notch, HH hours extended and the staff were generally great. I was very surprised that I was consistently addressed by name as well in such a huge and busy lounge. I was told by the team that all lounge improvements are at Marriott's request, believe it or not! The negatives remain though - constant aggressive and loud behavior of certain guests (not hotel's fault) and the overflow room for HH is just sad.

Thanks for the recent updates. It would be a no brainer for me to stay at 650 MOP! I'll keep an eye out for BRG as the current rate for my dates are ~1400 for a standard room. I'll take my chances with booking a standard room and hoping for an upgrade at check-in!

How are people finding this 650MOP rate? I was thinking of going there this weekend just for a night and the best I could get was about 1300HKD after taxes. For an extra 200 I could upgrade to the Cotai view room, but if I should expect an upgrade as Platinum then I probably shouldn't bother.

Booked this for next Sunday Monday and fingers crossed. Marriott Platinum, whatever that means these days after the merge! I assume that gives us lounge access?

Anyone taken the new gazzillion dollar Bridge from airport to Macau? Been open a few weeks and i read there are some kind of buses from airport to Macau, and i assume this is faster than Ferry?

I am hoping there is a stop in Macau near this Sheraton?

So would you suggest we check bags from Australia to HKG or to Macau? So Skypier is a kind of transit lounge for incoming It'l pax it seems?

We were in HKG a few weeks back but went straight to downtown HKG hotel.

Seems like MINIMUM connect time for or Waterjet is 110 mins so our 5.35pm should be perfect for the 7pm Ferry.

Markis link seems to indicate booking the day before saves money?

Please excuse my ignorance but when Ferry arrives at Macau what is best way to get to Sheraton - a cab, or do they have some kind of regular shuttles? So Sheraton is pretty close to Ferry arrival?

So what time period from catching 7pm Ferry do you allow to get to Sheraton?

Flight back to MEL is 7.50pm Tuesday.

Looks like Ferry last trip is 3.55pm to Airport HKG which takes an hour or so it seems?

So near 3 hours to kill at airport - no idea what lounge Virgin uses but 3 hours in lounges is never exciting!.

So to get a BUS on new Bridge back from Sheraton to HKG airport is not possible it seems short of all kinds of connections and stuff?
