I really like the food here at the club lounge during happy hour..its like you dont need to have dinner as the offerings is a dinner itself...from steak to siomai to chinese style fish sticks to beef pie, etc.
Minus the ambience, which looks like a chinese resto, the food is quite good and very filling! Agree with the posters above, plats do get excellent platinum recognition. Suite upgrades even using c&p. Also on top of 500 plat bonus points, you get an additional 100 spg points as an added amenity. Dont check-in in the lobby, go to 4th floor...no waiting time there. |
Will be looking to stay at the Sheraton Macau in a few weeks. The website says that there is a complimentary shuttle to/from the ferry terminals.
Is there a schedule or do we need to arrange pickup with the hotel beforehand? |

Wrapping up a 2 night stay. At the old c&p rate a good deal indeed, used SNA to confirm exec suite which was changed upon request to family suite.
The room was the best part, if you are with kids which are, say, below 12, they will love it. Fun bunk bed, Wii, decoration, the works. Perfect. The club, as said, is huge, and staff are very friendly. While the food selection equals a smaller version of a full buffet main restaurant, we weren't always impressed by the quality of F&B. Other than that, the property is a vast, rather soul-less casino and shopping center. The pool areas are nothing to write home about, and they close down at 6pm (the nicer one) and 8:30pm in order to push people to the casino (I guess). For a future stay I'd probably go back to the Westin, while a bit old it is clearly the more charming SPG hotel in Macau. When wanting to be on the strip I liked the grand hyatt better. On a side note, we went for lunch at Rebouchon au Dome. To cut a long story short, this place would NEVER be a 3 star restaurant anywhere in Europe. I feel the Michelin testers have given in to the big name and the location. Better go with some local Portuguese or Asian food. Also can you take a ferry from Macau to Lantau island (HKG) or is there only one option to hong kong central? |
Heh, just realized you replied to a Jul 2013 post, hope he's still around.

No upgrades for spg gold
Spent one night in sheraton Macau as an spggold member. No upgrade, got the most basic room with no view at all, indeed it has a bad view, facing another wing of the hotel, which is more than 40 levels high. No newspaper, no club access. I will advise gold members book the holiday inn instead which is USD 40 cheaper and next door to Sheraton. I have stayed there 4 months ago. The room is very similar to that of Sheraton. I cannot think of anything better in Sheraton, except the complimentary apple yoghurt or extra 100 spg points for members.

Spg gold members do not have club lounge access as gold benefit.

I stayed at Macau Sheraton and they upgraded me to Ambassador Suite (I'm Plat), holy cow the best 2 days of my life with my family. |

Do you even know your benefits? Why would you be expecting club access as Gold?

I stayed at Macau Sheraton and they upgraded me to Ambassador Suite (I'm Plat), holy cow the best 2 days of my life with my family. What I was expecting was an upgrade to a better view room as stated on the spg site, which is evident in how I wrote about my disappointment at the view of the room. You are certainly entitled to share your experience of the best 2 days of your life in an Ambassador Suite as an SPG platinum member. By the same token, I would also like to let other Gold members know my experience of staying in this hotel as a Gold member, i.e. no welcome letter, no newspaper, no upgrade to better view room, no club access, etc. (I recall a number of Gold members have asked questions earlier in this thread on whether upgrade to Club room and lounge access will be granted). |
I stayed there in mid March, was still Gold at that moment, no upgrade offered.
Planning to be there again in the coming few months, now I'm plat and not sure if the chance of getting suite upgrades will be high (but anyway I saw the comments about happy hour stuff in lounge which is good enough to me already). |

(By the way, go for the points, the breakfast offering in their lounge is AMAZING, better than most restaurants, simply amazing.) |
