I suspect they (really) don't like it, but I tend to just leave without checking out anyway. They seem to figure it out and email me a bill or give it to me the next time I check in. I'm usually running late for a flight or a meeting and really don't have time to wait in line for something that seems entirely unnecessary. (The Hilton Beijing Airport does manage to have an "Express Checkout" that requires only signing something at check-in saying you plan to use it, though they seem surprised that I sign it every time.)

Does anyone have pictures of a standard room? I'm staying for a conference and the rooms were booked as a block. I'm sure I won't get an upgrade. I'm hoping I do get stay credit, though.

Any info on the lounge or breakfast?

tfong007 Nov 7, 2012 5:04 pm

I will be going this weekend for the UFC fight. I hope I score the upgrade.

Stayed here a couple of times since it's opening.
PLTS are upgraded to at least Club floor rooms but most often to the 1BR suites (the hotel has quite a number of these).

Lounge hours 0700am-1100pm : lounge is huge. separate lounging area and dining area. seats about 50-80pax. staff are excellant and helpful. though some are still in the 'training stage'.

Breakfast 0700am-1030am : usual selections of cold cuts, cereals, juices, cooked to order eggs, meats etc. (not as large a selection as the Thai hotels though)

Appetizer 0530pm-0730pm : nice spread of salads, hot dishes, sandwiches (enough to make a light dinner)

FREE shuttle from Macau Ferry Terminal / Cotai Ferry Terminal / Macau International Airport

Walking distance to City of Dreams / The Venetian where you can catch the free shuttle to the main city.

Thanks Meremale. Helpful information.

I had an awesome one night stay here. I am a lifetime plat and booked with C&P. I was upgraded to a deluxe suite. It consisted of a suite with bedroom, tv room and a living room with another tv and dining table. It also had a washroom for the living room. This room was fantastic. The lounge is probably the best lounge I have seen in any Starwood establishment. It was a full on buffet with a bar for happy hour and breakfast. My take is they let their high rollers stay on the club floor so they go all out.

The also offered a double amenity on check in which was 500 + 500 bonus points. Check in staff were amazingly helpful. Platinum guests can check in at the club lounge.

The only downside is that the place is still working out kinks. They ran out of blankets. Hard to believe for a property with 1000-1800 rooms could run out of blankets.

The property was initially one tower and the other tower was a Trader's hotel. Now both tower's are Sheraton. I believe the total number of rooms will be 1800. Currently the lady at the check-in said 1000 are available. There will be no shortages of suites for plats at this property.

I stayed at this property during the same weekend as tfong007. I got an upgrade to a two room suite but not to the amazing suite the others have reported.

Upon arrival I was escorted to the lounge for check-in. It is quite a long schlep. There I waited a while while they checked me in. One of the lounge managers came over to chat and gave me a tour of the lounge. The lounge is impressive but it is enormous. Each section could serve an entire mid-sized hotel. For instance, the dining area is probably as large as the BKK Plaza Athenee's main restaurant. The lounging part of the lounge is as large as the Living Room at the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit. The upside is that they are serving a large variety of food. The downside is that any intimacy of a lounge is lost.

After checking in I was escorted to the room. Nice room. Good furnishing. Nice standalone bathtub.

I used meremale's advice about walking to the City of Dreams to use the shuttle to the city. I found a long line to get the shuttle and a long line in the city to get the shuttle back. This seems to be a weekend problem as Sunday evening taxi and shuttle lines were significantly smaller.

Generally this is a great property. A bit too large for my taste but enjoyable nonetheless.

I didn't et the double amenity.

Did you try the egg tarts? They are famous. What about the almond cookies sold everywhere in the city? Did you try the hotpot restaurant in the mall next to the hotel?

Great, I will definitely try those!

We plan to stay at the Sheraton Macao over New Year.

Would anyone have suggestions re dining / watching fireworks at New Year's Eve? I read somewhere that "Avenida da Praia Grande" or outside "The Lisboa" are good places to watch. But I've never been to Macao before.

No to pretty much everything. I had some local cuisine here and there but as I was on my own I didn't really do any serious dining.
