Opens Dec 15th.

No mention of a concierge lounge. If no lounge then breakfast would have to be provided as part of the Marriott guarantee for Marriotts, Rens, JW's, and Autograph hotels.

It would be a shame if no lounge for such a luxury hotel.

That will be interesting about the concierge lounge. I am curious to know if the smoke-free policy only applies to hotel and conference rooms or does it also apply to the 100,000 sq ft casino area.

Resort or not?

From the description on the Marriott site:

Opening December 15th, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas offers an uncompromising resort experience.

I smell a "resort" exemption regarding the lounge, etc. coming our way.

It is an Autograph property. I have not seen reference to Autograph Resorts.

I would be extremely surprised if there was a lounge and if this property is not exempt from being required to provide all normal MR program benefits. Nothing in LAS is free. :-:

From what I understood on my tour, they will have an Exec Lounge. Though I can't confirm this, IIRC, it's going to be a combined lounge space for the "high rollers" players club members too.

most properties have separate lounges. IIRC mirage lanais/villas are the only way to book access to a VIP lounge.

re "resort" - what vegas casino hotel is not referred to as a "casino resort"?

Reports from anyone staying

I'm not sure anyone has had the chance to stay at the hotel yet, but please report when you do.

I see there is a East and a West Tower... which one will the Marriott Autograph Hotel primarily operate out of, or if both, is there an advantage to either one?

I'm planning a trip in June, I found a rate of $140 for a Weds and Thursday night stay.

I've also seen where you can book the room from Marriott's site, and the http://www.cosmopolitanlasvegas.com site as well... does anyone know if we can book from the Cosmo site and still earn the Marriott rewards?

The cosmospolitan site has a couple extra special offers that I don't find on Marriott.

Interestingly they also have their own rewards program? http://www.cosmopolitanlasvegas.com/...-now-form.aspx

And every resort-casino has their own rewards program so don't read too much into that.

I just got back from Vegas and stayed literally 10 feet away from the Cosmo. If you have the option choose the east tower which is right on the strip. The west tower is an extra 7-10 minute walk off the strip. The property is beautiful. I wasn't able to get inside, but I was inside the Aria and a few other buildings nearby which I believe are all the same architect. Stunning - really!

Every resort-casino in Vegas has their own rewards program so don't read too much into that.

Yes, I agree with jbart. The rewards program seems to be more in line with their casino rewards than a "loyalty program" to stay at the hotel. I think if they had an internal program to compete against marriot, that'd be a direct violation.

I'm curious to find out if status gets your room upgraded as opposed to the $20 trick. I'll be platinum when I go in January and am crossing my fingers I will get a nice upgrade even though I booked a standard room. I think it's possible they may still have a "vegas mentality" and really not recognize marriott status. Hope I'm wrong!

I specifically love the "eye in the sky" photo over the blackjack table. Looks stunning from the pics here. I will be staying here just before the christmas weekend. I'm hoping that they will upgrade me somehow as a Marriott Plat.

Will put a review after my stay. Hopefully it will be a good one but I'm sure I will run into some hiccups since it would be only one week old when I arrive there.

Las Vegas Cosmopolitan Hotel

Has anyone stayed at the New Las Vegas Cosmopolitan Hotel? Any thoughts or experiences from this location? I will be out there in mid-January and will either stay at the Grand Chateau or Cosmopolitan, but I'm not sure if the new hotel is worth the extra 10,000 points per night. Stayed at the Grand Chateau a few years ago and has nice rooms, but basically nothing else in the hotel.

Thanks for the link. I did notice the announcement when it came out, but was hoping to get some thoughts from those that might have reservations and end up staying there in Dec/Jan. I'd like to get a feel to see if this is worth the extra 10K/night over the Grand Chateau. From what I can tell, it looks like it will be worth it.
