Hotel Website: The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Autograph Collection
Official List of Cosmopolitan Bonvoy Elite Benefits: https://www.cosmopolitanlasvegas.com/marriott-bonvoy-at-the-cosmopolitan-of-las-vegas

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, the only charges that qualify for Points are as follows:
- Room rate, room service food and beverage, in-room movies, phone calls and in-room minibar purchases
- Points cannot be earned on any other purchases at hotel outlets or for hotel services

The Cosmopolitan is a "resort," so basically the only elite benny is a possible upgrade. Elites are not exempt from the resort fee

Resort fee is $39+tax effective 01/01/2019. Also as of that date, parking (self & valet) is complimentary for hotel guests.

Cosmopolitan is exempt from providing free wifi to Plats per Marriott's T&Cs, however it is included with the mandatory $39 daily resort fee so there is still no extra charge to any guest for using it.

Platinums receive:

* use of Platinum check-in area (to the left of main desks)

* Platinum arrival gift is $10FB coupon or 1,000 points

* room upgrade (space available) - better luck on mid-week stays than weekend stays. sometimes a 'sandwich' (ie, bribe) to front desk does the trick.

* free tea/coffee 6am - noon in the plat lobby check-in area

* Wicked Spoon: Marriott Rewards Platinums (and PPs) get to use preferred line and get 15% discount when staying at the property. Just show your MR Plat or PP card.
You can book through Virtuoso as well as Amex FHR for complimentary breakfast buffet at Wicked spoon.

Resort fee:

* $39 (+ tax) per day for resort fee, which includes gym access, local + long distance calls, Wifi, pool access. The resort fee is not waived.

Receiving Bonvoy Points for a Stay:

Many have reported needing to follow up to have Marriott Bonvoy points manually posted post stay (they do not typically post automatically.) A tip is to email [email protected] shortly after a stay asking them to manually forward your folio to Marriott Bonvoy for processing.

Hat tip to billycwhatup for this:

* Identity points and MR points can not be earned on the same stay

Other tips

The Terrace Suites are the most common room type and are classified as studio and one bedroom, with options for King, 2 Queens with or without a fountain view. They are essentially the same size, however (10 sq ft difference), but the layouts differ.

The King Studio Suite has a standard bathroom with shower and tub, a living room area with large sitting area and an L shaped sofa and the bed is in a separate area, though not separated.

The King One BR Suite has the same kind of living room area, with the bedroom separated by sliding doors and the bathroom is larger, with a "soaking tub".

If you get a terrace suite of any kind with 2 Queens, the living area will be smaller.

And unless your room type is described as "fountain view", you aren't guaranteed it, though Platinum status will get you upgraded on check in if they have one available.

If you book any of these room types and want to aim higher, I would try a giving the receptionist a 50$ "sandwich", and ask if any wraparounds upgrades would be available. If they say yes, there is a good chance that it will be a wraparound facing south-east or south-west, which for me would be a no go. Taste in view is personal of course, but for me the fountain-Eiffel tower view are so much nicer than the south facing views. Also when you would have the choice between a low level wraparound or high level terrace suite, I would still take the high level terrace suite, because a number of floors on the east tower are blocked by the big Bellagio sign. (see youtube vids).

If you really want a high level wraparound then you probably would have to pay, which can sometimes be not that much. If I'm not mistaken I think they offered me a wraparound at 150$ per night more, but we originally booked a 1 bedroom terrace room without view.

Last tip : If you would get the choice of wraparound I would definitely take a high floor east tower one, facing north-east. That would give you bellagio fountain + eiffel tower view, but also a good portion of the south strip.

It’s amazing to see Hyatters clapping for this change when MGM gold gets almost nothing compared to Marriott Plat+ (not that Plat+ get standard elite amenities here anyways). Yay for Hyatt (not). Can’t even BRG to MLife properties under Hyatt. So we now know Hyatters don’t really care about benefits like them preaching

From everywhere I've seen reactions it can be summed up as the following:

Bonvoy/Identity - This sucks.

WOH/MLife - This is great.

If it went full Hyatt properly, for sure and no question it’s for the better.

#ThisIsGreat camp is jumping for joy because hyatt got an extra property, woohoo, in a city that already has a crap load of other Mlife affiliated hotels, yay big win

Would be a legitimate win for everyone if it became a Grand Hyatt (or whatever). Too bad that never happened. Joining Mlife is actually a net loss for everyone from a rebate perspective. Hyatt innate rebate is less than the Marriott innate rebate. Only the WoH CC covers that difference but it doesn’t apply here.

Lol funny to see posts chastising Ritz Carlton for not providing a free $50 breakfast next to posts celebrating MLife + World of Hyatt… where they won’t get their $35 breakfast. The level of Hyatt worship on this forum is so weird lol.

As a Cosmo regular, Cosmo going Mlife/Hyatt certainly would be a negative change for me - but Hyatt loyalists will still be able to earn/burn points here so it's no surprise that this is viewed as a positive by some (especially if they don't have an MR affiliation). I don't think it's necessary to strawman that.

Who’s the one strawmanning again? The rebate gets worse of everyone under WoH (from a % perspective), as mentioned in the post you’re quoting.

There is also literally a post in this thread complimenting MLife benefits over Bonvoy lmao…

Apparently the ability to earn/burn points at a desirable hotel w/your own program somehow isn't a perceived benefit anymore...SMH.

Maybe because the Cosmo isn't a 6 star Forbes Michelin Super Galactic Luxury property it doesn't matter, I dunno.

Then quote the specific post and say that, instead of making snide and petulant commentary about posts in general. I suppose the forum should just be thankful you edited out the personal attack from this post.

Your rebate has decreased and you still won’t get your sacred breakfast. By your Ritz vs. LC logic, you should be going to the WA (or whatever Hilton property) because… free breakfast 🤤

Apparently the Hyatt worshippers don’t understand that MLife gold gets you no benefits compared to Marriott Plat+ at this property specifically, and since the Hyatt worshippers are all about elite benefits, not sure why it’s better under Hyatt. Since both programs get points for the stay, that’s a wash for the most part depending on where you want more accrued points.

At this point, if Cosmo went to IHG or Radisson or Accor, the Hyatt worshippers will probably be happy as well, with no logic or reasoning behind it.

I did quote the post when it was posted lol. If posts made not directed to you in any way trigger you to extent… well, idk. Also you can check my edit history, I did not edit out any insult other than to add the actual quote lol L

The rebate % is lower for Hyatt vs. Marriott in this case. Point preference matters but, if someone plans to redeem at Marriott within the year, the Bonvoy rebate is superior imo. The only exception would be if people are starved for Hyatt points but, given the fidelity this group demonstrates, I really hope that isn’t the case. At this point I’ll end the year with 8 digits of WoH/UR burning a hole in my pocket and I view Hyatt as a secondary program

My experience with Identity has been great for someone who does not gamble at all. I am still able to earn elite status, which has real benefits. Since June 2021 I’ve spent around $8k at the Cosmo on rooms, fees, dining, etc. That got me silver and then gold status. With that I’ve received these published benefits:
* Around $1000 in comped rooms for myself and a comped room for traveling partners
* Around $750 in waived resort fees — so far
* Around $250 in Wicked Spoon two-for-one buffets — so far
* $400 in resort credits
* A $300 two-for-one show ticket

So $2700 worth of benefits and counting. Again, I do not gamble; literally the only gambling was the $5 they gave me when I signed up for Identity. I am not even hosted. The above are published benefits of the elite tier.

It doesn’t look like Mlife has anything remotely like the benefits I listed above, for non-gamblers.

If one is spending $8K in a couple months during a depressed time in Vegas, a nice set of benefits observed is...not shocking?

(oh my mLife booking calendar just shows COMP every time I go to book a room...yeah no benefit for Hyatt loyals at all, nope none whatsoever)
