Hotel Website: The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Autograph Collection
Official List of Cosmopolitan Bonvoy Elite Benefits: https://www.cosmopolitanlasvegas.com/marriott-bonvoy-at-the-cosmopolitan-of-las-vegas

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, the only charges that qualify for Points are as follows:
- Room rate, room service food and beverage, in-room movies, phone calls and in-room minibar purchases
- Points cannot be earned on any other purchases at hotel outlets or for hotel services

The Cosmopolitan is a "resort," so basically the only elite benny is a possible upgrade. Elites are not exempt from the resort fee

Resort fee is $39+tax effective 01/01/2019. Also as of that date, parking (self & valet) is complimentary for hotel guests.

Cosmopolitan is exempt from providing free wifi to Plats per Marriott's T&Cs, however it is included with the mandatory $39 daily resort fee so there is still no extra charge to any guest for using it.

Platinums receive:

* use of Platinum check-in area (to the left of main desks)

* Platinum arrival gift is $10FB coupon or 1,000 points

* room upgrade (space available) - better luck on mid-week stays than weekend stays. sometimes a 'sandwich' (ie, bribe) to front desk does the trick.

* free tea/coffee 6am - noon in the plat lobby check-in area

* Wicked Spoon: Marriott Rewards Platinums (and PPs) get to use preferred line and get 15% discount when staying at the property. Just show your MR Plat or PP card.
You can book through Virtuoso as well as Amex FHR for complimentary breakfast buffet at Wicked spoon.

Resort fee:

* $39 (+ tax) per day for resort fee, which includes gym access, local + long distance calls, Wifi, pool access. The resort fee is not waived.

Receiving Bonvoy Points for a Stay:

Many have reported needing to follow up to have Marriott Bonvoy points manually posted post stay (they do not typically post automatically.) A tip is to email [email protected] shortly after a stay asking them to manually forward your folio to Marriott Bonvoy for processing.

Hat tip to billycwhatup for this:

* Identity points and MR points can not be earned on the same stay

Other tips

The Terrace Suites are the most common room type and are classified as studio and one bedroom, with options for King, 2 Queens with or without a fountain view. They are essentially the same size, however (10 sq ft difference), but the layouts differ.

The King Studio Suite has a standard bathroom with shower and tub, a living room area with large sitting area and an L shaped sofa and the bed is in a separate area, though not separated.

The King One BR Suite has the same kind of living room area, with the bedroom separated by sliding doors and the bathroom is larger, with a "soaking tub".

If you get a terrace suite of any kind with 2 Queens, the living area will be smaller.

And unless your room type is described as "fountain view", you aren't guaranteed it, though Platinum status will get you upgraded on check in if they have one available.

If you book any of these room types and want to aim higher, I would try a giving the receptionist a 50$ "sandwich", and ask if any wraparounds upgrades would be available. If they say yes, there is a good chance that it will be a wraparound facing south-east or south-west, which for me would be a no go. Taste in view is personal of course, but for me the fountain-Eiffel tower view are so much nicer than the south facing views. Also when you would have the choice between a low level wraparound or high level terrace suite, I would still take the high level terrace suite, because a number of floors on the east tower are blocked by the big Bellagio sign. (see youtube vids).

If you really want a high level wraparound then you probably would have to pay, which can sometimes be not that much. If I'm not mistaken I think they offered me a wraparound at 150$ per night more, but we originally booked a 1 bedroom terrace room without view.

Last tip : If you would get the choice of wraparound I would definitely take a high floor east tower one, facing north-east. That would give you bellagio fountain + eiffel tower view, but also a good portion of the south strip.

The VIP airport transfer is a limo - yes, it is free pickup to/from the airport (most people tip $20 each way, so it really costs the same as a cab, but nicer)

Not sure about comp nights.
I was told by the concierge that gratuity was included in the benefit.

Comp nights are a joke. As a matched Identity platinum, I've received nothing even after some decent play. The same level of which has earned me much more under mLife.

Stayed at the cosmo memorial day weekend. Had to push really, uncomfortably hard to get an upgrade from the city room (had to ask to speak with a manager). Was worth it though. I'm a platinum member with marriott. Although it might no be free any more, the platinum line at the wicked spoon saved me probably 2 hours of waiting in line.

I got two fee nights offer (Sun-Thur) from Cosmo via Identity. I know for sure they don't know anything about my Marriott status. And I really haven't played a whole ton there. Just a little bit here and there of the course of several visits to the hotel. Never actually stayed here either. Not sure if I will get a chance to actually cash in on it, though. Going to Vegas Friday, but the offer is valid 6/22 - 6/31

I used the Marriot GCs here early 2014 and it was easy. They only have 1 machine that could take the GCs so you may have to wait during long checkout lines.

Thanks. But no "we don't take them" drama?

Sorry it this has been asked and answered, but I can't get through the 126 pages of posts.....this is the time I'm staying where I have 2 complementary nights booked direct through Cosmo and 2 nights booked through Marriott. Each night is a separate reservation. Can I have these reservations linked to avoid moving rooms each night? Should I make sure my MR number is on all of the reservations? Any help would be appreciated!

This is the first of this question...

I wouldnt worry about the reso too much. Once you get to the hotel you can arranage the merging of rooms without issue. I have done this on multiple marriott reservations without issue.

I had a poor experience here. I failed to get a wake up call 3 days in a row among other small issues. They had me speak to a customer service rep for like 20 min on how they could do better but then never offered anything for compensation. When I suggested they throw some point my way they said they'd "get back to me within 24 hours" but never did.

I'm here currently and have had a mostly great stay...I've noticed that housekeeping is lackluster as previously reported (ex. Had to leave a note to ask to leave shampoo), but not much more to complain about. Good thing I fly UA and get the 2 for 1 buffet.,,

Isn't their wake up call system automated?

Yes -- no problem at all. I suggest having them credit the cards to your account when you check in, so you can avoid dealing with it at checkout. Just make sure you use all of the value during they stay, because they will not issue you a refund for a credit balance at checkout.

Anybody have any idea when/if Marriott will no longer be affiliated with the Cosmopolitan hotel due to the sell to Blackstone? I haven't seen any solid answers since the sell in May...

Just want to start with: I'm new to flyer talk, so if I'm posting in the wrong place-I'm sorry! I hunted through the main page to figure out where to post, and this thread seemed the most appropriate.

I was made a reservation at the Cosmopolitan quite awhile back, in March I think, for a Terrace Studio (I've had decent luck with the sandwich in the past). At the end of the booking session an eStandby upgrade page came up. Included a partial screenshot to not include personal info. I was wondering if anyone has used this and had any luck. The options included:

VIP Check-In $25
Early Check-In $36 (this is 11am and after. I believe if you do the early check-in directly with Cosmo for $50, you can check in at 10am.
Fountain View - $30/nt
Terrace One-Bedroom - $38/nt
Terrace Angle - $44/nt
Terrace Suite - $174/nt
Wrap-Around Terrace - $305/nt
Lanai Suite - $778/nt

I'm thinking about putting in for the early arrival, since I don't need to check in until about noon; and I'm pretty sure that will go through no matter what. But I usually do a $50-100 sandwich depending on how busy it is and have been upgrade to a terrace suite and wrap 4 out of 5 times. I have a 4 night stay, so paying $1200+ for the upgrade to wrap just isn't worth it to me. I think taking the chance on the sandwich is worth it. Has anyone stayed in the Terrace Angle? It looks like it might be lacking a sofa/proper living room, but does have two bathrooms. It's not a room you can book out right, you have to call and request to book it. I'm thinking about requesting this one and then seeing if I can get better when I check in.
