Does anyone know if Cash and Points reservations can be made by calling the hotel? The calendar for the entire year is blocked out for Cash and Points. I have stayed here several times on Cash and Points before the category change.

Most likely, hotel would refer back to SPG since it is a redemption.
Why not call the SPG hotline, instead?
Our SPG associates would be able to view the availability and assist you further.

Comfort room is the smallest room in the hotel.

Managed to do BRG on it because usually SPG will have DELUXE ROOM selling at the lowest rate.

You can file BRG when 3rd party website is selling COMFORT ROOM but you can't find availability on SPG.

If the claim gets approved. Your room type will then be changed to COMFORT ROOM by the hotel.

If you're a Plat, upon check in they will upgrade you to DELUXE ROOM or sometimes PREMIER ROOM. Both are actually the same.

Just an update, the happy hour for Platinum members is as it was several years ago. I was told Happy Hour is from 6pm to 8pm at either amBar or the Drunken Leprechaun. I went to Drunken Leprechaun, and they had a basic choice of foods (4 items, very basic) and a limited drinks menu that included beer, wine, spirits, soft drinks, cocktails (4), mocktails.

I guess the Hooter's strategy didn't work out for them.
who wouldn't want to have a Hooter's in the lobby of your hotel.
I liked it when it was Beer 'o' clock in the Vault.

+1

At least it wasn't a formally affiliated venue of the hotel, even if it looked a lot like it was.

It's gotta be an odd gig moving into a position when the hotel is for sale and likely to be reflagged.

FWIW, I remember well how the Hilton Hua Hin was for sale maybe 3-4 years ago - I have seen the ad myself in the Bangkok Post then...
As it is still a Hilton and just was / is in the process of renovations as far as I know, I am not sure if this necessarily will mean a change of brand / flag, etc. - maybe just property ownership ?

i used to be a regular at this property when it first opened up but haven't stayed here in over 5 years....i will however be back for a couple of nights later this week....i've stayed here a bunch of times & every time i have either booked or been upgraded to a terrace suite....

there are a few people traveling with me & we were initially booked at the aloft but the aloft would not allow me to use suite nights so i convinced everyone to shift their stay here to the four points....as it turns out, the four points is actually cheaper than the aloft for our stay dates....

for this stay i require a suite as i will be holding a conference in my room for about half a dozen people....the only suite types that are available during my stay are junior & executive suites....i booked an executive suite last week but also decided to book a regular room & attach suite nights since i have a bunch that are expiring in a couple of months & i won't be able to use them all up....the suite night cleared today so i've cancelled the executive suite booking & kept the upgraded room....

i've never stayed in an executive suite here & there are no pictures for that suite type on the hotel website....has anyone here stayed in an executive suite & did you take pictures????will 5-6 people be able to comfortably sit in the suite for a number of hours during the conference????

I stayed in the Terrace Suite year ago. You can see picture here: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/15659347-post217.html

On the website the Executive Suite appears to be bigger than the Terrace Suite so I would guess that it will be fine.

@remymartin has stayed in the Executive Suite and was pleasantly surprised by it.

Hope to see you later this week!

Their room descriptions state:

Junior Suites offer a studio-style open design with a two-seat couch and an oversized bathroom. (48 to 56 square metres)

Executive Suites provide a spacious, modern living room, a separate king bedroom, and a convenient guest powder room. Both the living room and the bedroom have an LCD Flat Screen Television and a DVD player. In the bathroom, enjoy the comforts of a plush robe and a deep Jacuzzi bathtub overlooking the bedroom. (74 square metres)

Terrace Suites includes all the features of an Executive Suite, plus your own spacious outdoor terrace. (room: 64 to 72 square metres; terrace: 24 to 31 square metres)

So executive suites are largest suites.
