I recall light switches installed upside down from day one, then tiles falling off, walls cracking etc. It will need to close and have a serious rebuild. That said, I believe the RC USM isn’t up to the usual RC standard and Mariott can’t do very much. |
My verdict is we will get another mediocre and overpriced RC (Samui is the first location come to mind) after its opening in 2025.

There is also the announcement of the profit for the last quarter of 2022 for AWC by Khun Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi's daughter, Ms. Wallapa Traisorat, and the news that she gave on several of their properties. "AWC has continued to enhance its asset portfolio in the Hospitality Business Unit by investing in The Westin Siray Bay Resort & Spa, Phuket and dusitD2". https://www.kaohooninternational.com/markets/523468 https://loyaltylobby.com/2023/02/27/...5/?omhide=true https://onemileatatime.com/news/ritz-carlton-phuket/ . |
Stayed there twice, really dilapidated and no swimmable beach. It is also a good 20-30 minutes from Phuket town. No local restaurants nearby and built on incredibly steep hill making a buggy a necessity. I suppose if they think they will get $500 plus per night, good luck to them.

Hi did anyone stay in this hotel recently? I have reserve a room for two nights in Aug but still struggling if it worths for a stay given that there are so many competitive options in Phuket.
Also would like to know the latest elite member benefits for this hotel. Many thanks |

Any news on the rebranding? It is almost 2025. ;) There is no notice of renovation on the website, either they failed to disclose it or there is no ongoing renovation.
my understanding is they didn’t start the renovation yet. any projects in Thailand always delay and don’t proceed as planned. |

I'm staying here this weekend as currently at the Courtyard in town (which is rather lovely!) and the Westin was same price - so thought why not.

2025 is over, and the hotel seems to still be operating normally as a Westin, bookable online through the end of 2026.
Presumably the rebrand was cancelled, or at least put off for now. |
