Old Master Thread
The master thread dating back to 2006, when this property was first with SPG, can be found here.
If you are considering a stay, the old old thread is worth a read, as it's quite robust and some of the important details likely haven't changed a great deal.

Just back from redeeming a FWN. This was high-high season with summer holidays and Salzburg Festival happening.
We were nicely greeted during arrival, and the bellman would park our car (FOC) in the garage. We were given a non-exciting Deluxe just above reception, so we said we would welcome if they looked a little harder for a better room.
We then received a full lake-view Deluxe in the connecting hallway wing. The rooms are not huge (maybe 30m2 ?) but functional and nicely done. Due to the busy-ness it was obvious that suite upgrades were likely out of reach that day. The minibar is free (4 large water bottles, 2 each of juice, coke, and beer). Chose the Fuschl Cake as Plat amenity, great cake, and great value.
The Spa is fantastic, and even though 4 years old, looks like it opened yesterday. The fitness area is maybe a bit small, but has recent equipment.
We booked halfboard for an extra 58EUR pP. Dinner was a 3 course of high - but not fantastic - quality. The restaurant has beautiful views, but it is quite stiff in there, and was probably even stiffer because of the Festival. Average guest age was probably 75. Breakfast was also of good quality, but not the best ever. I recommend to ask for the separate menu for made-to-order egg dishes.
The concierge was a superb host to us during the short stay. He would take us - despite being very busy - on a quick tour through one of the Seehaeusl suites (nice, but at least for us priced completely out of range).
Was given a 2pm check out on Sunday. While we had hoped for 4pm, this was a very busy resort during high season.
Overall for me one of the top propierties for Starwood anywhere. The location, the lake, and the overall quality are excellent.

Just remember you might need to walk down to the Schloss...but I am sure they would pick you up from the bus stop if you call ahead.

Closed from 10/25-4/30
Apparently they are closed from October 25 through the end of April. I presume this means they operate seasonally, although I can find no mention of the closure period on their web site.
They weren't on my radar screen until I saw this thread and was hoping to book them for...alas, a stay starting on Oct 25.

Still, isn't it normal for a hotel to flag seasonal closures on their web site?

BUMP
any recent stays at this property? Am planning a stay towards the end of Apr - beginning May, still wondering whether the EUR 290.00 rate is justifiable!
Thanks in advance!

Hotel will open in May again. I am at the hotel's sister property, the Sheraton Jagdhof right now and all I can say is that the location is beautiful!
If you want to know anything just let me know, the same staff works a the Jagdhof hotel as in the Schloss Fuschl hotel. I will be here till monday.
