However...
Upon check-in I asked, "Might breakfast be available Sunday morning for a Platinum guest?"
Response was, "I'm sorry, we don't do that in New York City."
I replied, "Sure, but I know sometimes if one asks nicely an exception is made."
And then, "Well, OK, I'll put you on the list. Just give your room number when seated. Thanks for being a Platinum guest."

Sharon, please ignore this info as I realized when I departed that my rate included breakfast. I wasn't able to get to the FD to ask if this is normal for weekend so I'd say error on the side of caution.

Renaissance La Concha - Lounge is closed on weekends (but open Friday night for snacks).
Supposedly 1 continental breakfast per room on weekends provided.
However, on my stay they were all over the place with this one, so I can't comment as to what you'll actually get.

Just to confirm that the following two are still valid as of August-12 (minibar was a nice touch I wasn't expecting)

Cologne Marriott minor update
Recent stay at the Cologne Marriott and free breakfast in the restaurant was offered for Plats as an alternate option to the lounge breakfast. The lounge breakfast ends at 9:00 and it was mentioned this would provide for a later breakfast. This new policy started August 1 ... not sure if this is a trial or long term perk.
Just to add, the evening hot food offerings were excellent including beef roast and poached salmon. Food items were replenished and changed on the same evening. Seemed like a very noticeable upgrade from my last stay in the spring when there were mostly deep fried type snacks hot items compared to 'real' food on this stay. ^

4) Lounge is still accessible on the weekends; I was there on Saturday night, and the only drinks still in the cooler were milks; stopped by again on Sunday and it hadn't been refilled
5) Not sure about wi-fi access in the lounge as I didn't try

The above is still correct. Lounge key accessible 24x7 with water and soda in the fridge, as well as fruit and bags of chips/pretzels laid out for the taking. When the FD agent gave me my coupon for breakie, he said it was a "superb buffet." ^
