Thumbs up Incredible!

Sharon,
I recently posted a question about this topic. After looking at your incredible list, I'm hoping the AC Hotels (now Marriotts) will be updated under "SPAIN." If you have any information about hotels in Madrid or Barcelona, please reply. Thank you so much for your diligence.
Sincerely,
Sharon

I had some delightful stays in DC recently and was advised that in the last several weeks that a new memo had been issued by Marriott to the effect that if the lounge is closed on weekends, Gold and Platinum members and one of their registered room guests are to be provided breakfast certificates in the restaurant.

However, Socrates informs that this is not the case and that the current decision by Marriott not to offer breakfast when the lounge is closed remains in effect:

I can confrim, however, that the Metro Center DC Marriott will provided breakfast certs when their lounge is closed on the weekends.

In addition, I was informed that on summer holiday weekends (Memorial Day, July 4th(?) and Labor Day), it is likely that their lounge will be open.

I noticed that the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter has SEASONAL concerning whether they're open on weekends. I plan on staying here on Saturday May 26th--how does the seasonal designation affect my stay? Thanks very much for your help.

There is no date next to the listing, which means the info was valid as of '09 & no reports since then. If you stay there, please post an update. Thx.

Cheers.

The AC brand do not have exec lounges
Wi-fi available in public areas (log in # provided by front desk)
Mini-bar contents offered comp (in Spain/Portugal, don't know about Italy)
No brekkie to gold/plats (except in Italy where it's part of the rate for ALL guests)
Downside: A/C works only seasonally, regardless of outside temperature or noise - ie. ongoing construction; no in-room safety boxes

Renaissance Woodbridge (NJ) used to give breakfast coupons on the weekends but not any more. The front-desk guy was very apologetic but couldn't do anything about the new policy. That was on April 27.

Marriott Costa Mesa

Update: Marriott Costa Mesa (California) does not offer weekend platinum breakfast.

As a suites property with no lounge, weekday breakfast buffet or room service credit remain.
