Might as well cancel and churn it.
What's the reset date on your credit card statement? I thought mine was Nov 2nd, but is actually the 23rd. Then my free night for renewal would expectedly show 8-10 weeks afterwards if I keep the card. Maybe yours is a different situation though

For anyone else looking for their reset date have a look on the last page of your statement. (If you didn't have any transactions that month it won't show up and you will need to check another PDF/Printed statement).

How did you receive it? My annual reset date was/is September 13th. Should I have received it by now?

That was the same reset date as mine. Check your account overview or activity on the Marriott website. It should be listed there. They didn't send me an e-mail or anything.

This is terrible! Sounds like the anniversary nights are posting the day after 60 days since the AF? No way to cancel card and get AF refund afterwards?

I relented and applied for the SPG Amex Canada card. I got it yesterday and was surprised to only have a $1500 credit limit. I called Amex Canada and I was told that the credit bureaus consulted are the reason for the $1500 credit limit and that I can call back in 6 months for an increase. I was concerned about the ability to hit $30000 in spend within a year for the Gold Elite Status benefit. However, after reading this thread and learning that a new elite night benefit will be announced, my inclination to cancel the card has passed and I'll wait to see the details of the new elite nights credit..

What details would you like? It's good for a reservation up to 35K pts and valid for a year.

I think the OP wants to know how many elite night credits will come with the card next year (as do I!!!), not the value of the free night certificate on renewal.
