My card anniversary is early April...can I cancel now, and apply for new card to get the 20K bonus before it closes April 11?

Some say you can even have 2 cards at the same time....? Do it through referral if you are applying.

Are you referring to the Amex SPG card?

There are other threads that argue 11 months (my preference); some say wait till your first bill with the next year's fee shows up so you can leverage.
Ah...thanks - glad I checked. I guess I'll file it away in the sock drawer for another 6 months then...

You should probably try make use of the referral program ...

You will get a combine total of 31k Starpoints.

Then, cancel the old one ...

Anyone see a delay in your points posting from SPG Amex for March 2013? Usually mine post by the 21st or 22nd. Still not posted!

Points posted in the Amex account at the time of March statement, but issues in transferring to SPG account. Happened in February and happened in March.

What information?.

My Amex statements showed all the correct points. These did not show up in the SPG account as they should after few days. I can see my point activity on line with SPG account my self. Yes, and I did call SPG and they see what I see, no points for the transactions in question.

I'm getting the run around on this too. I referred someone, and that person was approved on 3/15, but I still don't see the 10K referral bonus. I contacted AMEX using the secure email, and they replied that the referral bonus was transferred to my SPG account on 3/17.

So, on Amex's part, the awarding of the bonus was quick. But now the question is where the heck are the points?

I'm with a SPG CSR trying to figure this out now....

Update - SPG CSR is saying that AMEX didn't do the transfer. So, back I go to AMEX. This is so annoying....

Speaking as someone that had to wait 5 months for a sign-up bonus that I qualified for in month 2 (in addition to following-up for 3 months) this doesn't surprise me. I only got 'action' when I sent a secure message/email through the Amex website - try that.

The offer is valid until April 11, 2013.

The 21,000 points offer (by referral) appears to still be active! I thought that would be gone today.
