And it doesn't say anthing we haven't hashed out here.

I found interesting: "GAO has noted in past reports that efforts to increase the circulation and public acceptance of the $1 coin have not succeeded, in part, because the $1 note has remained in circulation," the agency wrote in its report.

IN PART? Try that's the main/only reason. Typical gov't fools at work...

Several studies have been done over the years concerning public uptake of the dollar coin.

One recurring theme is that the unwieldy nature of change would push more people into using plastic for small everyday purchases. That isn't unreasonable, either, seeing as breaking a five would result in up to four additional coins where bills formerly would have been received.

A dollar coin would also cause significant demand for the $2 bill.

great new coin mileage run on right now!

  • someone has a $4k coin delivery left at doorstep without signature having been provided.
  • you fly to his house if you know where it is and when those coins are there, and even if ticket costs $500 RT, you net $3,500 and get the miles.

PLUS all of the miles you earn from flying R/T to his house ... that is quiet the MR. Gain miles, gain status, gain money. TRIPLE WIN!

$17 to $30 an hour (or more based on region) plus overtime and benefits is well paid to most Americans compared to average salaries overall. Definitely so for a delivery service job. Granted UPS drivers have a demanding and laborious job but it's certainly better than the most other service industry pay.

So they're being compensated reasonably well for schlepping our coins from pillar to post.

Sort of like taking a piece of candy at the 5&10. Is it really stealing?

You will most likely be arrested by the FBI for violating the laws outlined in a federally mandated program. If you read through the FAQ, you will see numerous stories of individuals being detained by their banks in the vault, with their coins, until the authorities arrive. It is humiliating and not an experience you want.

You did read the FAQ right?

Is there any restriction for citi AAdvantage cards to apply for this?
I need to reach 4k spend in 6mo for getting the 75k miles. It is the citi Amex card.

Also make sure you don't have any heart conditions, because you're very likely to get tasered.

But on the plus side, you will get a free digital PSA exam out of it.

LOL. Maybe you could use the coins as a bribe?
