I just give the attendant the whole rolls. If I'm due change, I've NEVER had one open a roll to give it to me. Almost always they pay me in bills. Though one time I did get a $1 bill, a golden dollar coin, and 8 quarters. Touche!

They are selling them on EBAY.
There are currently several active listings for $33 per roll. When I check completed listings, however, I don't find any recent transactions for rolls at all.

Do you have a sample auction? I can't find anything selling for more than face value.

Was riding home with a friend on the Garden State Parkway last night. When he pulled into the toll booth the sign read,

"Dollar Coins Only"

I wasn't paying much attention so don't know if they have certain lanes that take dollars only (verses other coins) or if they're all like this now.

3. Office collections
4. Garage Sales
5. Farmers' market
6. Splitting a lunch tab.
7. Barber shop
8. Taxi

Obviously, these don't cover my $1K/month spend, but at least some coins get circulated. What the coins DON'T do is ride around in my pocket. They are too bulky and too heavy.
Hey neighbor! Don't forget to use them liberally on the Dulles Toll Road.

Big warning!

I purchased some gift cards at GC.com last night via BC.com, which normally nets $12.00 CB per $500 card, but I just checked my account and last night's purchases posted at $2.00 per card even though BC still lists the CB at 2.4%.

I don't know of any other thread where this is being discussed, so I posted it here. Hope it helps before you do any large purchases.

look in your wallet now - do you really have $20 single dollar bills? i'd be shocked if you did. With the $5 bill still being around, you'd never have more then 4 dollar coins in your pocket at one time, which ways slightly more the 4 quarters. really not that big of a deal
EXACTLY what I was thinking! ^^^

Has anyone on here shared buying coins with anyone else? My girlfriend knows and is starting to buy in knowing that we are going to be able to go on a vacation somewhere nice.

But how about friends/family? I have to imagine people would think I was off my rocker.

Wife thought I was being dumb at first but the light clicked on after a bit and now she helps me break them down for deposit, got my Father doing it with his and his wifes card, The tellers at the bank have inquired about it but none tried, coworkers all thought I was an idiot until I booked our next trip to EU for $120 RT, and my Mother thinks I'm committing mail fraud and will end up in jail (she can be a bit dramatic)

Oh, and the people working at the Post Office get a big kick out of it as well

None sold, a quick glance at their feedback doesn't show any sold either.

No! Get a smartpass and then load your smartpass with a CC

I guess that's one way to circulate them... but they won't make much money if they do sell.

$31.95 + $4.95 (Shipping) = $36.90
$36.90 - 3% Paypal commission - $0.29 PayPal Fee = $35.50
$31.95 - 12% eBay commission = $28.11 ($3.84) - 12% is for a fixed price auction, which is what this auction is
$35.50 - $3.84 - $0.75 (eBay Fees) = $30.91 - $0.75 is the listing fee.
$32.30 - $4.95 (Flat Rate Shipping) = $25.96
$25.96 - $25.00 (Cost of Coins) = $0.96

Wow. 96 cents profit. WHEEEEE! Not worth my time, thank you.
