That's exactly what I do! I buy one $250 box every one to two months because I like to spend them. (and the wash thru the credit card is just a small bonus). Long term, the U.S. government will save money if it can retire the $1 bill. So I'm patriotic, too!

You'll have much better luck bringing small amounts and making multiple trips. Some banks make you take them out of the rolls while others don't.

4 box limit ($250 per box) each 10 days = $1000

Those were the good old days. Save your receipt on those bags.

nwa30 was your order cancelled because it was over $1000 or because you ordered within 10 days?

It wasn't over a $1000 and I took delivery last Tuesday and it was to a different address.

At what point do you come to know that your order is cancelled? As soon as you place the order? When the comes become 'in stock' and it is time to hit your credit line? when it is time for shipping?

You would most likely get an e-mail the next day -- if they decide to cancel your order.

I'm still not understanding why the poster's order was cancelled.

10 Day Rule

I called the US Mint today. I was told that the new 10 day rule is from the date of purchase, not the date of shippment.

That's still not crystal clear. Though a card may be authorized, no charge is processed until the product ships X days after placing the order. Nothing is actually purchased until then.

I specifically asked the US Mint that question. She said that it is from the date of purchase, not when it is shipped or authorized or charged to the cc. I'm sure they had a meeting or memo since this is a new rule. She seemed sure of her answer.

I've been distributing these at my car washes for months now. People are slowly accepting them more often.

What I find most interesting is that older people seem to liek them more, and frequently "buy" rolls of $25 to give to grandkids etc.
