I am going to try to order another $2,000 w/my husband's SPG card and have those sent to my office; we'll see if it works.

Very excited as I plan on bringing some of these to Vegas in a few weeks to use as tip money. Every time I go down to the casino I will slip a $25 roll in my purse!! ^
Hopefully the ability/option to spend the coins in Vegas isn’t a factor in your decision to buy then, for the expected losses from the gambling use far outstrips the gains from the miles/points from buying them!

I continue to be blown away by the number of people determining that the risk+costs involved with taking advantage of this offer is outweighed by the relatively meager value of the gains. Oh well, to each their own.

Well, I figure I'm going to lose $1500-$2000 on gambling anyway... regardless of whether I get these coins or not.

I always take in my loose change to a bank before a trip to accumulate a bunch of singles to bring for tips... now I don't have to.

Same here, I am piling on the Hilton Amex points for the 20K gold also. Now up to $2500 in mint coins. We use them in our shop as a replacement for bills and they have been well received.

Could someone kindly post approximately how long it's taking between the time they order to the time they receive their coins? I'm pondering this one, but want to see if I can time it so I'm in town when they arrive... otherwise, no deal. and no, I'm not looking for a friendly FT'er to pick them up for me. :P

A long time to....never. It happened to me. Ordered in June, back ordered, shipped on July 4, never received it, sent in a form to US Mint, supposed to get me a refund on my credit card and investigate...What a hassle, I will never do business with US Mint again.
YMMV

It took 5 weeks when I ordered the John Quincy Adams ones - they were "In stock", then delayed three or four times.

FYI - although the coins aren't billed until shipped, on an AmEx the authorizations come out of the card's "available balance" immediately. I didn't notice that occur on the MC I used for the previous order.

one recent order I made was on june 27...
received the email saying it was about to come on july 14, and card was charged like the next day. Got the coins by that weekend--I thin the 17 or 18th of July.

bummer. I hope they help you. Of course, sadly, you ARE 'doing business' with the US Mint--every single day.

After my positive experience with the JQA coins, I thought I would try and order two boxes each of the other four coins for the entire family (5 members x 8 boxes = 40 boxes = $10k = 10k UA miles) using the same CC and the same address on five separate orders. No shipping costs added to the total for any of the orders. Currently each account says order request is on hold but just did it a couple hours ago. Will update when the situation changes.

Effectively your limit is $2000 per billing address. Anything beyond that and you'll get an email saying it has been cancelled.

I do my best to avoid it as I always aim to use my miles/points earning credit cards

Well, I spoke too soon. It looks like the line really has been canceled.

Here's what is showing up on my accounts:

Mine, ordered first (very early, almost as soon as they went on sale):
2 rolls each of Monroe, Madison, Jefferson, and Adams, all listed as in stock and reserved.

My husband's, ordered next on the same day:
2 rolls each of Jefferson and Adams, in stock and reserved
2 rolls each of Monroe and Madison - "line was canceled"
Attempted to reorder Monroe and Madison the following day. This order, too, was canceled with the same message.

My daughter's account: same situation as my husband's.

Maybe they ran out out Monroe and Madison? But if that's the case, I don't know why they still have them available on their site. Perhaps they are canceling them because the orders have the same shipping addresses, but if that's the case, why not cancel the whole order, and not just part of it?
