They are, by law, the same physical dimensions as the dollar coins have been since the Susan B. Anthony dollars were issued, which is to say, slightly larger than a quarter.

Yep, sure enough, here it is two days later and the expected shipping date for my order has also been pushed back two days (to 7/8).
I ordered mine 6/16, and I remembered it had a backorder ship date of 6/28. The confirmation email I got had a ship date of 7/1. Now I check online and it has a ship date of 7/12! How does it keep getting pushed back? I can't believe there are people who are paying expedite fees to skip line and get the coins sooner.

I had them all sent to my place. The postman just left them all sitting in one of his plastic mail tubs on my front porch. I actually like spending these things and keep a roll in my console and another in my backpack, so I think I may order a few more packs. I'm still short a few SPG points and UA miles for my next trip anyway.

Too much chance that something could go wrong, like somebody grabbing the coins from the mailbox.
I'm curious what value others who have placed these orders are assigning to the rewards they are earning. Considering the risks, stress, deposit hassle (time & gas), etc., I'd think that most others must be in your boat with the $30-$45 valuation.

mooper, you can't just look at the value of the single transaction. In my case, that 500 is just what I needed to top off for a 25k award ticket.

btw, I really wonder why our orders are delayed more and more. Does the US mint have trouble making these coins? Which metals are used in these coins? Maybe we should horde them instead of bills since world metals are rising in prices.

I am in the same boat as the $30-45. I used a Citi Platium Amex and got 1500 TY points for this transaction. I only live 2 miles from a bank and pass it every day, so I don't see time & gas as significant in any way to me. It took less than 2 minutes inside the bank. I took in $250 each time as to not do it all in one transaction. The first time I deposited it, and had no problem. The second time I asked for bills. She handed me $250 in bills within 1 minute or less. She didn't even verify I had an account with them!

I placed my first order yesterday when the product was showing as "back-ordered". The on-line order receipt I received immediately after submission shows a sub-total of $500, S&H of $0, and Total of $0.

The subsequent e-mail I received from the Mint shows Merchandise (blank), S&H of $4.95, and a Total of $4.95.

Will this all eventually sort out to a $500 charge when (and if) the product is shipped? I'm not interested in paying $4.95 over face for these coins.

Is that the only e-mail you received after you ordered or the most recent?

My e-mail says the "Product Not Available" -- nothing about a back-order date. Is it too early to think that my order was not processed correctly ($0 S&H)?

Yes, that is the only email. On my first order I received the same message and later a shipping confirmation email.

I suggest you cancel your order and try again.
