Tracking info

Funny thing about orders just placed recently.
Got some presidents ordered on Tuesday night got delivery on Thursday via UPS. At same time ordered N/A. Got notification that all orders shipped on Wednesday. Presidents were via UPS, after close examination (tracking info) found out N/A via FedEx and will probably be delivered some time next week. Hope I'm home. Not a biggie though since this is an easy way to make the citicard purchase to get miles for new accounts.

I am new to this forum and quite amazed at how many posts there are in this thread. Would expect to see this kind of interest on Fat Wallet.

I agree with the above poster - I have really only used the buying coins idea to reach minimum spends on credit cards.

But after reading a few of the pages here (certainly not all 151 pages - gosh) seems many folks here doing this at $5000 a time. I can only assume that is some heavy box you get with 5000 coins !!

I might have to consider this with the SPG Amex - do it 4 times for 20K miles, then get 5K bonus when transfer to an airline.

Or is there a better card to use???

You can only get $5K of the Native American coins. $500 per president. They've gotten much better at not allowing that limit to be exceeded per address.

Basically I'm using it for the $750 minimum spend for bonus miles on AA Citi cards and to top off my US cards for the $25K = 10K preferred miles bump. If all I can get going forward is $500 every so often for a new president, I'm fine with that.

What I miss is the live search club and the 160K miles I got for playing games. But that thread's over in S.P.A.M. so I digress.

When you order the $5,000 in NA they will come in 2 boxes, and yes they are heavy. Usually they are shipped on the same day, but sometimes not. Some orders will require a signature, I know they do at $1,500 the level, but it might be as low as $1,000. They are also using a combination of Fedex/USPS, where the package is picked up and taken to a certain point along the way and then turned over to the USPS and they make the final delivery. This may only happen with a $250 order. Keep reading this post for more current details.

In my personal opinion, you can't get a better card than SPG AMEX. The mileage bonus is super.

The most I've seen in one package is 10 boxes ($2500) and they weight ~48 lbs (according to UPS.com).

Every order of mine (always > 2k) has been shipped via UPS for the full route, requiring a signature.

My local TD Bank branch now has me using the "subject to count" deposit bags which they told me they ship to the fed for counting. I deposited $5000 yesterday and the assistant manager had an real bad attitude. This is the first time that I haven't been pleased with this bank. If it wasn't going to make my life more difficult, it would tell them where to go! Perhaps he had a bad day, but if his attitude continues, I will be contacting TD management.
