Last week I received 2 boxes with the EXACT same order # and EXACT UPS tracking #. My cc was charged $1,000.
If they sent me someone else's order, I would have notified them, but an extra $1,000 duplicate order of mine - I seriously am not going to send back !

Got harassed on the phone by PNC today. Called me on the phone while at work and left a VM. I called back and got to this lady's VM. It edned like this: Name1 Name2 loss prevention specialist.
She called me back a few hours later and started asking where do I work, how much do I make, who is the second person on the account (my dad, opened this account when I was 16) yada yada yada...I just told her I'll make her life easy, I will close the account tomorrow. It was mentioned that they are federally regulated organization, could this have come from somewhere outside the bank or just the bank trying to figure out where all the coins come from?
She asked me:
-how do I get paid
-when do I get paid
-why so many deposits
-why in such order (one every other day in different branches)
-does my employer pay me in such periods? (every other day)
-she tried to ask more and I got fed up and told her I'll no longer be with PNC tomorrow
-profit?
Just posting this FYI.

Shipped Status for 2 days and UPS no info
Alright, back to your normal programing.
My last order was showing shipped since yesterday morning. Normally by the evening UPS would have at least shipping label info. On this one, more than 36 hours later UPS still shows nothing.
At this point I do not know it is UPS not updating its system on time or the Mint hasn't given UPS even the shipping label info.
By tomorrow if UPS still has no info I will give Mint a call. I think last year there has been a week when Mint showed shipped for 3 days yet UPS showed nothing. Though I forgot when it was. Hope this is not a redux of last episode!
The other orders shipped on Friday and arrived Monday morning. However all the UPS had to show for were out from Louisville and then out for delivery in our town. All the movements in between were missing.

How much you make is none of their business if it's deposit accounts you have with them.
One thing that I can think of is that they may think you are operating a small business with that kind of activity and want to make sure they get the fees for a business account instead of a personal DDA account.

It really does seem the only business reason to justify the fee is to exploit people who were trying to exploit a (previous) loophole, I can't think of much of a voluntary market the service. Or put another way, I can't think of a reason as to 'why would anyone do that?'

I believe the question was not directed at you, but, asked in general. In fact since clearly you did not get miles (and were charged a cash advance), the general question does remain 'why would anyone do that?'

I have an AMEX Starwood BUSINESS c/c .
In my most recent statement I received a list of "updated" terms of use.
In them it states that no points will be earned in the purchase of "cash equivalents".
I'm not sure if this is directed at, or applies to US Mint purchases. I haven't charged such purchases on this particular card.
I'll be interested to know if these coin purchases are affected.
