I believe so. But this has not happened to me so some one else can confirm this.

First time coin buyer

I am certain it has been discussed before, but please let me know. Even though the purpose of the coin buying program is to get the coins into circulation, there is no problem of simply depositing them into one's bank account? I placed an order of $500

There are problems to this:

1. Finding banks that will accept coin deposits of high amounts.

2. Credit Card companies that will do a Financial Review on your account and cancel cards due to excessive purchases of coins.

Of course these problems will only occur if you purchase A LOT of coins each month.

The mint has tracking in each coin and records where they were first used.

If it's detected that you're depositing the coins directly into the bank the FBI will track you down and throw you in federal prison for a violation of the "DOLLAR COIN DIRECT DEPOSIT" federal law.

Thank you. I do have a bank that would accept it at least $200, and it's only a one time purchase to get the required spending for my new AA Advantage

Unhappy Houston we have a problem

I ordered $1,000 NA's. They sent me $500. They charged me $1,000. I called. They will send me a certificate on non-recipt.

Has this happened before? Should I dispute the charge on my CC?

Oh please, oh please - let it be true

I once received a shipment with an extra box of $250. Cha-Ching. Then I got dinged a $750 Chase fee for funding a Citi bank account with my United Debit card (did not go through as a purchase) - ouch ! Even though I am a MAJOR Chase customer, no dice getting it reversed. So, I figured I've made tons more from Chase that the measly $750 charge and then there's karma. OK - so now I'm only down $500 cumulatively...

Today I was expecting 9 boxes. Office messaged me that they got 10 in. Could not figure what the extra box was, since no other orders had shipped. I figured it must be someone else's order and I would definitely report it if so.

I look at the packing lists and two of them are identical.
Identical Order #s AND TRACKING #s !

I go to my credit card account and only one charge was made (so far, fingers crossed).

I'm not holding my breath but this would put me ahead $500.

I have a major coin high going at the moment.
As Howard Dean would say, "Yeeeeeeaaaaahhhhhhhh"

Pretty weird - HUH ?

No, a TRUE FTer will post bond with a credit card for the extra miles. And then hope that the county or city will issue a check after they appear in court to refund the bond instead of credit the card back

Good morning fellow coiners. Looks like the program is indeed going nowhere. Until 2016 that is....

Here is a must listen for your Saturday morning:

This has been brought up numerous times in this thread. You have to do a "search this thread" to see it. Bottom line: most casinos won't take coins in an amount large enough to be useful. Apparently they are very picky about anything that could be conceived as money laundering.

Here's just one example of doing a thread search:
