I am happy to report that $500 SS (issued by Meta, serviced by InComm) worked at my local WM (not a supercenter).
$499 + $1 fee

not sufficient DPs or don't know for sure whether a cumulative up to $485 would stop or 1 swipe as debit would?

It seems once the store hits ~$485 it will stop, be it one swipe or five or ten.

My Meijer's doesn't allow GCs for MO purchase.
I loaded the card onto the Amex BB at WM cashier. I only had one since it was a test run in the first place.

There are DP’s in the Simon thread. Not for $99 swipes but two swipes of $200 work and the third swipe of $200 fails. BHN has locked this down pretty tight

Did you do the change payment technique for changing a MCGC from credit to debit?

Data Point: I was able to use a BHN VL card to make a 200 MO purchase at my local WD today, so it looks like I'll at least be able to liquidate the current stock. Still, that will essentially nerf what has been a fantastic source of points/miles over the years. Still might be a bit useful for meeting spend for bonuses, but unless something changes, BHN cards are "mostly dead" to me.

Success at unloading a BHN $500 Sunny! Bought at WD in Tampa on 2/19. Not authorized for $500 money order at different WD on 2/22 but got money order for $475(.89) at same WD in Tampa today.

Apparently MCGCs run as a credit and not a debit unless you change the method of payment. You should be able to do this at stores other than WM although I have no experience other than at WM.
I could not tell you the mechanism for making that change in a grocery store.

To add to the strangeness, Mygift.giftcardmall.com is currently redirecting to some "group buying" site I have never heard of called Nimble Buy. I checked the balance on a few cards earlier and it was working "normally. That is, with lots of errors and time-outs, as has been going on recently.

josephstern and littlewinglet like this.
