Acme MO's
 

I used to buy MO's at Acme to liquidate on occasion. I went to one for the first time in about a year last weekend and when I got to the cashback screen and selected 'none', I got 'Not Authorized'. Tried it with another card and got the same thing. Was kind of embarrassing...

When I got back to my car, I tried to make sure they had a balance so I checked on my phone but the website wasn't loading after I entered my info. Tried a few hours later on my tablet and it showed the correct balance. It's unlikely that there was an issue with the card, so I assume Acme is done for GC MO's.

Was just wondering if anyone else can confirm? For the record I was using a Metabank Visa.

Did you hear a "Beep Beep" as the Acme product failed??

Acme is owned by Albertstons. Just like other stores such as WM, Metabank GCs don't work at Albertsons-owned stores.

Metabank Visas haven't worked in almost a year.

I posted this in the Safeway thread in August:
The Staples Metas worked at Acme in the PA/NJ/DE area for multiple swipe MO over 99 until about April 2022, from then until July 2022 they only worked for MO under 99 and since then they don't work at all anymore and always show "Not authorized".

MGC still works. Not sure if non Metabank VGC still works.

When you say MGC still works, do you mean the ones from Staples or some other kind? I just tried a Staples VGC today and got "Not Authorized" which from what I've read around is normal.

ACME near me has stopped taking any gift debit card for MO.

Do you mean the POS machine rejects them all or that the CSR won't let you? I have a Staples really close to this ACME so it would have been ideal to use Staples cards, but the CSRs were so chill that as long as I can find a VGC/MGC that isn't auto-rejected it won't be a problem.

But you didn't answer the question. Does your ACME allow GCs or have yours all been "auto-rejected."
If not, what ones have successfully gone through?
