Signing up to buy $1000 visa/mc gift cards
You can buy the $1000 cards on Simon's volume site. Their regular site only sells $500 cards.
If you're new, or haven't bought anything in a year, you need to register at https://www.simon.com/volume/register-consumer
As part of the registration process, you will have to go to a brick and mortar mall and buy at least $3000 in cards in person, as well as filling out some paperwork while there. After that, you can do everything online.
As of Nov 2020, Simon Mall Gift cards will only work for $99/swipe for money services at Walmart and many grocery chains.
$1000 gift cards are available indefinitely.

Update: Tried again today, the Staples GC worked fine, Simon cards of course gave me same 05 error again. However, doing several attempts worked. Sometimes trying a different card worked, and later trying the failed card again on last swipe also worked. Really annoying, but for now having backup cards seems to be a good solution.

It should be noted that 30% off means ALL extra fees, purchase fee, shipping, and the processing fee. 13 cards and the promo is enough to cancel out the processing and shipping fees altogether, more than that and it's a discount on the purchase fee also. Nice code.

I just had eight different cards error out at a reliable Walmart.
I've never had a problem at that location and the cards all show a 1k balance.

I'm trying to order the Visa Black Sparkle, but I no longer see the option to have them come without sleeves/envelopes. Did Simon take that option away?

I just got approved for volume purchases. Has there always been a $10 processing fee per order in addition to the shipping fee per order and in addition to the $3.95 per card fee?
