Signing up to buy $1000 visa/mc gift cards
You can buy the $1000 cards on Simon's volume site. Their regular site only sells $500 cards.
If you're new, or haven't bought anything in a year, you need to register at https://www.simon.com/volume/register-consumer
As part of the registration process, you will have to go to a brick and mortar mall and buy at least $3000 in cards in person, as well as filling out some paperwork while there. After that, you can do everything online.
As of Nov 2020, Simon Mall Gift cards will only work for $99/swipe for money services at Walmart and many grocery chains.
$1000 gift cards are available indefinitely.

Has anybody had trouble getting points with ordering online gift cards from Simon with Chase?

I did my first order last week to finish out 4k of my Cap One 50k/6 months. Points posted right when the transaction did - and so did my bonus 150k points. The whole process went pretty smoothly.

I believe these cards can be customized with our name, correct? Ideally this would make it acceptable to some WM cashiers who want to see a matching ID. It'd be even better if there were cards with no GIFT CARD branding on top.

I am stunned at how fast they turn around orders. I get mine embossed with name and company name. I ordered most recent batch on April 21, got them today (April 23) via UPS Ground. These guys rock!
