Signing up to buy $1000 visa/mc gift cards
You can buy the $1000 cards on Simon's volume site. Their regular site only sells $500 cards.
If you're new, or haven't bought anything in a year, you need to register at https://www.simon.com/volume/register-consumer
As part of the registration process, you will have to go to a brick and mortar mall and buy at least $3000 in cards in person, as well as filling out some paperwork while there. After that, you can do everything online.

As of Nov 2020, Simon Mall Gift cards will only work for $99/swipe for money services at Walmart and many grocery chains.

$1000 gift cards are available indefinitely.

Is it possible to do 1k SMVGC with Amex or is Amex off the table entirely with this method? I basically just want a SUB, not trying to go nuts...

Not only is it off the table, but Amex is coded to not count any purchase at Simon Malls towards SUB s or even to award you MR.

lol. You need to do more research. You will not get either your SUB or any points. If you somehow do get points, they'll get clawed back.

Beechy

I had purchased some of the Simon $1k on August 30th(last day at my local mall) and registered them at https://mygift.giftcardmall.com/ . I did use them online with Pay1040 & Payusa on September 1,2023. These are Metabank cards. Looks like things have changed since then.
You say 'looks like things changed since then' - can you elaborate? What changed? When? How?

Sorry, needed to keep scrolling. It looks like Puckett answered this:

Same here. Pay1040 worked with $1k cards but ACI and PayUSAtax both declined. Simon CS says there is no way to register these cards for online use.

The old Blackhawk cards can be registered with Giftcards.com. But the new InComm cards are anonymous cards. You can't register them.

Yes, it appears many GCs that used to work at PayUSATax do not work there anymore. PayUSATax does ZIP verification and cards you cannot register wouldn't work there. It's not just PayUSATax though. I recently (this month) got an AMEX GC that would not work on Amazon! The card's customer service said it's b/c Amazon does not ask for CCV (which Amazon doesn't). But the card didn't work to pay for a Utility bill either, despite CCV being asked for (eventually worked at another Utility that uses a more simple-minded payment protocol). Non-registerable [VISA/MC/AMEX] gift cards is a bit of a new fashion in the GC industry designed to slow down the consumption and maximize the breakage. The jury is still out if it's lawful.

Yesterday 10/2/2023 I visited one of my supercenter wally around 1 PM and tried to purchase a MO for 700 using a Simon VGC [ a 1000 dollar card] issued by Sutt@n, the transaction was declined twice with the msg credit not allowed or something like that, I left and went to my local grocery store that also sells WU MO and I got my money order without any issues, I'm sharing in case wally is moving to limit the purchase of MO at their stores, any DP is always welcome. Thx

I ran into this problem as well. At least for PayUSAtax, I found a workaround. I clicked on the "Checkout with Visa" button on the lower right (just to the right of the Paypal button on the payment screen). I was able to associate the address/zip code with the GC.

Noooo I have to pay quarterly taxes and not being able to hit about 6K with the visa GC is a bummer....I guess I can still do 4 payments (pay1040 and payUSAtax) and put the rest on CC if necessary. Some points is better than zero points I suppose. How recently did you use the visa checkout button with PayUSA?

Use Hyatt Business CC ?

Plus, for every $10K you spend in a calendar year you'll earn 5 tier qualifying night credits toward Explorist or Globalist status

I have been thinking about getting the newish Hyatt Business card, for Simon spending, to help keep my Hyatt Globalist status, through Spending. Ive been a Simon customer for a long time. Seems like I remember stories about Business cards not working for Simon online bulk purchases.

can anyone provide an update on that issue. Sorry, I cant take one for the Team, since I wont apply for this card , unless its works for Simon. Thanks
