Signing up to buy $1000 visa/mc gift cards
You can buy the $1000 cards on Simon's volume site. Their regular site only sells $500 cards.
If you're new, or haven't bought anything in a year, you need to register at https://www.simon.com/volume/register-consumer
As part of the registration process, you will have to go to a brick and mortar mall and buy at least $3000 in cards in person, as well as filling out some paperwork while there. After that, you can do everything online.

As of Nov 2020, Simon Mall Gift cards will only work for $99/swipe for money services at Walmart and many grocery chains.

$1000 gift cards are available indefinitely.

Just curious, which design do the 1k cards have, or are they available in multiple designs?

Things worked smoothly for me today. I'll probably go another few times to stock up.

My usual plan is to liquidate day of or day after purchase, but may have too much volume to do that. Anyone know of issues with the Simon mall cards getting hacked? I've ran into a few instances on grocery store or Office Depot purchased gift cards getting drained, I was curious if anyone heard of the same issue with Simon Mall cards?

Shot down in flames at my Simon in Tampa. The lady asked
with a suspicious look what the purpose of the purchase was for and said that they are not set up for 1k and that she hadnt even clocked in for the day. She had no interest in calling management to ask about it, and refused to take my information so I could be reached when they begin selling them. She even tossed my ID and credit cards back on the counter causing them to slide off and hit the floor after she checked for my name in the system. Really bad experience; made we wonder what is going on there since it was so different than everyone elses experience?! Anyone have a contact that I can reach out to in order to complain?

And they're not in special packaging that say $1,000. They're just loose cards that they activate for $1K.

According to the manager, this is a limited time offer and its availability in the future will be re-evaluated depending on its success.

This is easily the dumbest thing I've seen in some time. I seriously can't even comprehend this level of stupidity from Simon. I give it 6 months until Wal-Mart is dead.

Simon obviously made a decision a long time ago to embrace "gamers." At my mall, even the automated phone system says "Welcome to ___, home of the Simon Giftcard." The hand-made sign is maybe a little over exuberant, the sentiment is clearly consistent with the company policy/strategy.

How profitable is SMGC to Simon Mall

Can someone please direct me to some website that explains the economics.
1) when I buy a 500 gc who gets what out of it. With Visa, cc company, metabank, Simon mall, is there enough to go around for the 3.95 fee.

apologize if it's been answered in forum somewhere

Not St. Petes...the one further north. Was contacted by higher up apologizing for the encounter and welcoming me to come in now that the individual was spoken to. As is often the case, try to avoid older clerks when possible as they are oftentimes difficult to deal with.
