Signing up to buy $1000 visa/mc gift cards
You can buy the $1000 cards on Simon's volume site. Their regular site only sells $500 cards.
If you're new, or haven't bought anything in a year, you need to register at https://www.simon.com/volume/register-consumer
As part of the registration process, you will have to go to a brick and mortar mall and buy at least $3000 in cards in person, as well as filling out some paperwork while there. After that, you can do everything online.

As of Nov 2020, Simon Mall Gift cards will only work for $99/swipe for money services at Walmart and many grocery chains.

$1000 gift cards are available indefinitely.

Simon Malls sell AMEX gift cards so I imagine it wasn't exactly hard for them to figure out which mall is a Simon Mall selling GC.

Newbie question. When you activate one order with several cards, do you activate the entire order all together. System asks for the card number of just one card. System does say "cards activated". No prompt to change PIN(s).

One card number activates them all. It's for security - they just want to know that the account holder received the cards.

I assume the PINs are still the last 4 digits. If you want to set new PINs, do you change PIN one by one?

Yes, same as other Meta VGCs, one by one.

Not a newbie, at this MS thing, including GCs for several years. However, I took a break during the pandemic and now I seem to be at a loss. Metas, including SMGC, don't work for more than $99/swipe. So, I can't use them at WM for MOs or Bill Pay. Also, can't load them to GreenDot. I am reading through all of these posts over the last several months where folks are still buying Simons, sometimes it the $thousands, but completely unclear where they can be liquidated. If anyone can help with ideas, I would very much appreciate. Even if you prefer to send in a private message rather than over the group. Hoping to cash in at least some good karma I put into this group over the years. Thanks in advance!

Since the WM changes, I’ve been getting mine at Albertsons, Safeway and Basha’s grocery stores. The fees are higher since I have to get 2 MO per swiped Simon vgc. But I’ll still make money at it. At least until Alb./Safe. make their expected upcoming changes. Now though, I liquidate 1 set before getting more from Simon.

There are some transactions (not MOs, but certain reloads etc) that can still be performed at regular registers, if employees are willing and know the right codes.
